Job Description

We're actively seeking a Security Administrator to join our team in Ottawa for a 12 Month Term. As a Security Administrator, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with corporate security team and various business departments. Your primary responsibility will be to provide administrative support to the Security Team. This role places a strong emphasis on precision and attention to detail and proficiency in MS office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Administrative support to the Security Team
  • Approval, Maintenance and Tracking of Area Access Requests (AARs)
  • Approval, Maintenance and Tracking of Security Various Requests (SVRs)
  • Assisting with security clearances
  • Managing Incoming and outgoing Document safeguarding
  • Input of Incoming and outgoing visits data entry into database
  • Assists with data into security management system lenel
  • Backup support for approvals of International Travel Requests
  • Creation of new hire files
  • Filing
  • Maintains security intranet site (Sharepoint)
  • Address and report issues/non-compliances to the security manager
  • General duties and Assistance to the security team as needed
  • Role is required to be onsite four days a week

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
  • Working Knowledge of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of ITAR would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of the Defence Production Act would be considered an asset
  • Able to plan, and execute all tasks within the prescribed timeline
  • Good presentation skills
  • People skills, as the incumbent will need to liaise directly with staff
  • Strong ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • SharePoint experience, proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong administrative support skills
  • Maintains and orders office supplies for the team
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret Clearance, Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or as Permanent Resident.

  Education

  • High School Diploma Required
  • College Diploma or University Degree with Criminology background is a bonus and would be considered an asset

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
