As we continue on this journey, we require a Cyber Security Advisory Lead responsible for the building and management of a team of security advisors supporting three principal business lines, for defining cyber security standards, development and management of an effective security education and awareness programme and management of security suppliers and partners. 

Reporting into the Global Head of Cyber Security, you will build and motivate a small team to support and advise three principal business lines in order to strengthen the firms security stance. 

You will also build and motivate a small team to define security standards and embed them within the three principal business lines by the provision of security advisory, consultancy, and support services.  

This is a critical role which will lead the development, delivery, and track the progress of an innovative and effective cyber security education and awareness programme to further improve the security culture of WPP. 

Liaising with and managing security schedules of third-party suppliers, vendors and service providers, you will help ensure WPP security requirements are met.  

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Effective security monitoring. The role holder will ensure a fit for purpose Security Operations Centre (SOC) and monitoring capability that provides a richness and granularity of security data to enable swift response and incident management. 
  • Detection. Ensure that the Security Operations function is equipped and able to accurately detect, analyse and triage security events in a timely manner through the effective management of people, processes, and tools. 
  • Response. Ensure that the Security Operations function is equipped and able to accurately classify, define severity, contain, and remediate security incidents in a timely manner through the effective management of people, processes, and tools. The role holder must be able to provide clarity in complex and developing circumstances and take rapid decisions. 
  • Leadership, management, and development of people. Build a high-performing team and develop it with appropriate training and career development. Act as a role model for team members and provide mentorship to more junior members. 
  • Stakeholder management. Able to engage and influence stakeholders across the business with the ability to explain complex issues in simple language, and to lead the rapid assimilation of information to enable swift reaction to Cybersecurity incidents that could be damaging to both employees and customers. 
  • Third party management. Able to manage third party providers to ensure their cooperation and support in determining the accuracy, criticality, and response to security incidents. 
  • Ensure that WPP IT meets all local legislative and regulatory requirements in all aspects of Security Operations.

 

What you'll need:

  • Experience in developing and leading high performing cyber security teams in a large and complex environment 
  • Certifications in security (i.e. CISA, CISSP, CISM) desirable but not essential 
  • Degree or equivalent (i.e. MBA) desirable but not essential 
  • Comprehensive knowledge about vulnerability and security policies such as ISO standards 
  • Significant experience and expert knowledge of Cybersecurity standards, technologies, and processes 
  • Experience of developing and delivering effective cyber security education and awareness programmes 
  • Experience of managing security requirements and SLAs with large and complex supplier arrangements 
  • Experience of working closely with multiple teams in both security incident scenarios and in BAU. Able to relate to their roles and ensure that the Security Operations team is seamlessly integrated in process and technology terms.
