Do you find Threat Hunting, Threat Intelligence, SIEM and EDR exciting, and do you want to be a deciding factor in IT Security in our internal as well as our customer’s environments? As IT Security Engineer you ensure operations can perform their security-related tasks based on guidelines you help define.

Areas of responsibility and technologies encountered
As Defensive Security Engineer you will be a part of Netcompany Operations and our dedicated security team consisting of skilled and committed colleagues. You will take part in defining how Denmark’s most ambitious IT company host solutions for critical Danish infrastructure and large international customers. You will encounter everything from identifying improvements to monitoring of servers and applications, optimising response, advising colleagues about alerts as well as adjusting security tools.

You will be a trusted advisor for Netcompany’s delivery and project teams regarding how to solve security-related tasks.

Your primary responsibilities involve:

  • System protection: Your primary responsibility will be System protection. Implement protective measures to secure the system from cyber-attacks. this may involve researching how our firewalls should be configured, configuring our EDR, and ensure our SIEM have the relevant security logs. You will also work with secure configuration by ensuring that systems and networks are configured securely based on the current threat landscape and to reduce attack vectors.   • Threat Analysis: One of your responsibilities will be to identify potential threats to Netcompany and Netcompany's customers, e.g. by designing strategies to counteract these. You will work on identifiying and analyzing potential threats, both sophisticated and more well-known malware attacks. Once these threats have been identified, they must be evaluated based on the potential impact it could have, the likelihood of it impacting, as well as comparings these to vulnerabilities existing at the time of discovery.

 About you

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Bring a structured and analytical mind and be able to apply it when tasked with complex and undefined tasks, or even while designing and creating new security intitiatives.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: It's important that you are adaptable and not be stuck within a specific area of expertise. We encourage the ability to jump from one technology to another and to not be afraid of new and exciting challenges!

It is a requirement for the position that you can be approved for PET security clearance.
