About the Team


The Security Remediation team is looking for a new recruit. We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our team! You will be responsible for remediating critical to low priority vulnerabilities identified by our Security tools. You will also be expected to help maintain our tools and automation, while helping develop more.


About the Role


We are based at Next’s Head Office in Leicester and are required to work in the office 2 times a week, however we do expect the successful applicant to be flexible where required. The work we receive can vary regularly from straight forward fixes to complex and time consuming tasks. All of which have to be completed in a timely manner while ensuring the business is not adversely affected by our work.

This can range from:
● Troubleshooting automation for monthly security patching

● Investigating new vulnerabilities that are outside our automation and working to fix these manually.

● Work to implement new tools and automation to ensure vulnerabilities do not reoccur.

You will be working closely with various technical, security & application development teams and need to be able to communicate clearly & effectively with engineers and managers alike.

 

Criteria


Essential 

● A passion for IT with a keen desire to continually learn, develop and improve your skills and to be involved with the latest tools and technologies
● Excellent analytical skills
● Amazing problem solving skills whilst being organised and able to manage your own time
● Reporting on progress of work
● Ability to plan, prioritise and set completion dates on tasks
● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team unsupervised whilst escalating issues appropriately.
● Understand the theory of vulnerability management and delivery methods. Also the reason to do so.

● Understand the impact of your work on the business and wider systems.

 


Desirable

● Experience with vulnerability management products such as Qualys or Kenna

● Experience working in a large corporate environment
● Windows Server Support

● Vulnerability remediation

● Experience with Linux
● In depth understanding of configuring encryption protocols and algorithms
● PCI vulnerability experience
● Powershell scripting skills
● Change management
● Project management
● Experience working with Group Policy, Active Directory & Certificate Authority
● Experience in managing devices through Intune
● Real world experience of SCCM on both desktops and servers
