Why we're hiring:

The role of Manager, IT Security at VML St. Louis is a crucial position within the Technology Infrastructure department. Reporting directly to the Director of Technology Infrastructure & Security Services, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's IT security measures and networking infrastructure. This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the organization's information systems and ensuring the smooth operation of its networking environment. 

What you'll be doing:

  • IT Security Management, ensure security complies with all client and other security requirements, and lead team participation in audits
  • Networking Infrastructure, oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's networking infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Team Leadership, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure a high level of expertise and efficiency.
  • Motivate and mentor the team, facilitate individual growth, enable cross training, and appropriately address performance issues
  • Compliance and Governance, collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any issues related to data privacy, confidentiality, and security.
  • Incident Response and Disaster Recovery
  • Plan and manage the quality implementation of solutions and projects
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance, administration, service fulfillment and problem resolution activities
  • Build trusted relationships with business partners and other IT teams in order to achieve results
  • Participate in rotation of after hours on-call responsibilities and monthly weekend maintenance
  • Follow industry standard ITSM processes (e.g. changes, incidents and problems) and document work
  • Improve processes, define standards and guidelines, and ensure accurate documentation
  • Contribute to overall infrastructure strategy based on both technical and business knowledge
  • Evaluate and select vendor partners and tools
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to implement firewall rule changes and site-to-site VPNs
  • Develop documentation and implementation plans for assigned projects
  • Manage team consisting of Analysts, Engineers, and Architects.

 

Who you'll be working with:

The Manager, IT Security reports to the Director, Technology Infrastructure & Security Services, and will liaise with our global security teams.

 

What you'll need:

Qualifications:

 

  • 5-10 years’ experience in multi-site enterprise experience in IT
  • 3 – 4 years' experience managing others
  • Strong background in designing, implementing, and managing complex networking infrastructure.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Understands cloud services, and how it must enable the business
  • Working knowledge of risk and security frameworks and best practices (e.g. NIST, SANS, STIGs)
  • Significant experience, ideally in the healthcare or financial industries, with building and running a highly secure network. HITRUST experience highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCNP, etc.) is a plus. Equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

 

General Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to learn on the fly.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud networking and security for major cloud service providers (CSPs) such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Service (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Palo Alto NGF, and security solutions
  • IPv4 & IPv6
  • Strong Customer service and organizational skills. Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept constructive internal comments.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented office.
  • Proven success working with various team interactions and stepping in as needed to cover peak workloads.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and technology landscapes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC II, etc.)
  • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Azure DevOps)
