Job Description

Sibylline Ltd is looking for an outstanding intelligence professional and manager to join us in an embedded role leading a client's Threat Intelligence team. The role will be based in office in Austin, TX and support the client’s security leadership. The Embedded Account Manager will act as the management point of contact between the client and a 24/7 team of analysts and forming part of a tight-knit operation providing actionable intelligence and advice to decision makers. The team itself is split across three “follow the sun” shifts in Austin TX, London, and Singapore. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning and maintaining relationships with our client’s security leadership and looking after the daily management of our embedded team. This will include coordinating routine business reporting and responding to client needs, supporting the development and implementation of intelligence processes and products, onboarding and offboarding staff, developing and mentoring the team, and assisting with the growth of new business opportunities. 

The ideal candidate should have both intelligence and management experience, ideally both in a corporate setting. We are looking for excellent communication skills, strong experience in professional development and mentoring, project management skills and familiarity with client engagement. Previous experience as an intelligence analyst in the corporate security field and/or as manager for a globally distributed team would be highly desirable for this role. Some travel will be required given the dispersed nature of the teams. 

The role is on-site only at our client’s offices in Austin, TX or London, UK. The candidate will exhibit flexibility and adaptability to changing needs of the work schedule to support the global team. They must be a self-starter, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a broader team.  

The candidate will report to the client’s security leadership day-to-day, but will also report to and be part of Sibylline’s Embedded Operations team. Full support and guidance will be provided from our head office, including training and professional development.

Duties and Responsibilities  

 

  • Quickly build strong relationships with the client’s in-house security leadership to understand business requirements and set objectives for improving the quality of service; 

  • As the main point of contact for Sibylline, address routine status updates and formal quarterly reporting, including maintenance of key account KPIs and metrics; 

  • Take responsibility for accurate invoicing with our in-house team, ensuring all billing documentation is kept updated; 

  • Support the teams delivery and continuous improvement of a global threat monitoring function through intelligence output; 

  • Work with the client team to optimise processes and SOPs for delivering emergency notifications and assessments to internal customers; 

  • Work flexibly to ensure that client intelligence requirements are met; 

  • Facilitate the onboarding and offboarding of all Sibylline embedded analysts in coordination with client teams; 

  • Conduct routine approvals as the line manager or 2-up for all Sibylline embeds on the account, while setting clear expectations for each individual on the account; 

  • Respond to any training and development needs of the analysts, working with Sibylline’s in-house team to pull resources as necessary; 

  • Ensure Sibylline’s timely and attentive response to new staffing requirements and other enquiries from the client, participating in recruitment duties (assessments, interviews, etc.) as required; 

  • Identify opportunities for continual improvement in Sibylline’s delivery of premium staffing quality and client service, including responsiveness to new business requests; 

  • Assist with the sharing of information and expertise across the global Sibylline network. 

Qualifications

Minimum  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, International Relations, Criminal Justice, Business Management, or a related field; 

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in physical threat monitoring, corporate intelligence and / or a geopolitical analysis-focused role plus; 

  • At least 5 years of leadership / management experience; 

  • Strong understanding of the consulting sector, particularly related to account development or program management in corporate security, investigations, intelligence, and/or risk management; 

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with a strong intuition for client care and influencing senior stakeholders; 

  • Commercially astute, pro-active, self-confident, and willing to take responsibility for unfamiliar problems and challenges; 

  • Passion for mentoring and developing others; 

  • Organized, methodical, and detail oriented in all aspects of work; 

  • Able to maintain discretion and confidentiality managing sensitive client and employee issues; 

  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work; 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly forge positive relationships with both external and internal stakeholders; 

  • Able to maintain a flexible schedule to allow for occasional teleconferencing during non-standard business hours; 

  • Able to work in both individual and team environments;  

  • Willing to undertake international travel; 

  • High level of competency with MS Office tools; 

  • Full existing authorisation to work in the United States or United Kingdom. 

 

Preferred  

 

  • Practical experience as an intelligence analyst or researcher in the corporate security sector; 

  • Previous experience in a client-facing role in a commercial setting; 

  • Previous experience managing larger, globally distributed teams.

The remuneration for this role is negotiable for the right candidate, dependent on qualifications, aptitude and experience.  The salary range is $130,000 - $140,000/ year.​
