Manager, Product Security

We’re looking for an experienced leader to champion security efforts for 1Password products. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team to architect and review the security features and controls core to the 1Password product. You will be required to use both broad and deep technical knowledge across a range of security disciplines in order to empower your team to be able to make recommendations to leadership on architecture, resourcing, roadmaps, and processes.
This is a Remote opportunity within Canada and the US.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience managing product/application security engineers, including hiring and growing engineers.
• Success in cross-functional communication and building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, especially product manager and engineering stakeholders.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work.
• Demonstrated success in influencing product and/or engineering teams to adjust their designs or roadmaps, especially related to security.
• Demonstrated technical experience in one or more areas of product/application security, including but not limited to: performing security tests on mobile, desktop, or web applications; reviewing and proposing security design/architectures for products or applications; conducting security risk assessments or threat modeling; static analysis.
• Past experience in software engineering, ideally in one or more of the following languages: Typescript, Rust, Golang.
• Bonus: Affinity working with, reasoning about, and/or designing cryptography and cryptographic protocols.
• Bonus: Affinity for working on problems and solutions that make cryptography and security simple, usable and accessible.

What you can expect:

• Partner with security and product leadership to provide strategy and long-term vision for the security of our various products.
• Work with cross-functional partners to influence how we think about holistic product security risk; including GRC, Privacy, and Infrastructure.
• Drive sustainable process improvements around security engagement and prioritization.
• Collaborate with senior and staff individual contributors to create an engaging technical vision for the team.
• Support and grow a highly collaborative team through psychological safety and a strong culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to continuously refine hiring, onboarding, and secure development processes. 

USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $187,000 USD and $253,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $168,000 CAD and $228,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
