ADGA has a current opportunity for a Security Architect. This role is required to support the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC). The candidate will provide Security Architecture support to the Canadian Army's G6 staff.  

The Security Architect will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Review Canadian Army (CA) Network policies and processes to ensure they conform to international and federal policies and best practices;
  • Develop the vision for the Cyber Security Operation Centre (CSOC) and aligning it with the overall Canadian Armed Forces Cyber Mission Assurance (CAF CMA) Program and the Canadian Army (CA) CMA Program;
  • Conduct business planning along with the Ground 6 (G6) Cyber lead;
  • Develop a strategy for CSOC integration;
  • Set research and Development (R&D) targets and develop the CA Cyber R&D policy;
  • Work with the Divisions (DIVs) and G6 Cyber to collect Information Technology (IT) Security information and assess preferred monitoring tools and open source intelligence (OSINT) feeds for suitability within the CA networks; and
  • Review Cyber Mission Assurance Team (CMAT) training objectives and strategies and work to standardize the training across the CMATs

Qualifications

  • Proof of Master of Engineering in software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or required technical field
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience in a minimum of 4 of the assessment criteria below:
    • Demonstrated work experience in security architecture and engineering processes using secure design principles and industry best practice.
    • Demonstrated work experience in assessing and mitigating vulnerabilities in system by applying security and risk management principles.
    • Demonstrated work experience in development of security governance principles, compliance requirements, IT policies, guidance and procedures.
    • Demonstrated work experience in the design and protection strategy of an organization's communications and network security, such as the development of a VPN solution which include familiarity with encryption algorithms / cryptography and key management plan.
    • Demonstrated work experience in design and implementation of an identity and access management strategy (identification and authorization).
    • Demonstrated work experience in security operations in development of logging and monitoring activities, supporting event investigations and incident management. 
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience on Military Command and Control Communication and Information systems or ISTAR systems.
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering (i.e. System, software, computer, communication, security, or simulation) experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in each of this assessment criteria below:
    • Communicating information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff.
    • Communicating system engineering direction for projects or systems.
    • Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
    • Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of IT tactical systems, frameworks or strategies.
    • Performing strategic, operational, or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.

  • Must be eligible to obtain Federal Government Secret Clearance 
  • Copies of Degrees and Certifications will be required
