Job Description

IT Security Architect

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Security Architect with additional expertise in DevOps and Cloud to join our Security Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's security architecture and ensuring that all information systems, processes, and cloud-based infrastructure are secure. You will work closely with the development teams, cloud operations teams, and the office of the CISO to develop security strategies and solutions to protect the company's assets and meet regulatory requirements.

As the IT Security Architect, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Design, develop, and maintain the company's security architecture to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems, processes, and cloud-based infrastructure
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams and cloud operations teams to integrate security into the design, deployment, and maintenance of both traditional & cloud-based systems and applications
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, including cloud security
  • Respond to and assist with security risk & vulnerability assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Keep up to date with current security threats, trends, and best practices to ensure the organization's security posture is optimized, including cloud security
  • Monitor security systems to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner
  • Communicate security risks and incidents to relevant stakeholders and provide recommendations for remediation
  • Mentor and train junior members of the security team to increase their knowledge and skills

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • Additional professional experience or industry certification could be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on security architecture, DevOps, and Cloud
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS, with experience in cloud security frameworks, such as GCP, AWS, or Azure security
  • Knowledge of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption, and experience with cloud security technologies, such as VPCs and security groups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification 
  • Experience with DevOps tools, such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Docker, and experience with cloud platforms, such as GCP or Azure
