This position presents a unique opportunity to be a part of our founding and fast-growing privacy team! We are looking to add an experienced and passionate privacy professional who will work with our Sr. Privacy and Compliance Counsel to manage our privacy program and solve a variety of privacy and business challenges within a fast-moving, focused, and collaborative environment.

What you'll do
  • Help develop and manage a strategic and comprehensive privacy program that minimizes risk, aligns with industry best practices, and maintains customer trust
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Security/Compliance, Customer Support, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering
  • Act as a main point of contact to help internal teams navigate a variety of privacy matters, and develop business-oriented solutions
  • Support continued development and maintenance of privacy policies and procedures, privacy risk assessments, privacy-by-design, data retention and minimization, and other privacy program activities
  • Support compliance with US, European, and other international privacy laws and regulations, such as CCPA/CPRA and GDPR, and sector-specific laws like HIPAA
  • Project-manage new privacy initiatives and projects, including internationalization efforts
  • Partner with customer-facing teams to respond to customers’ privacy questionnaires and inquiries
  • Serve as a point of escalation for questions related to the management of data subject requests, cookie compliance, and data mapping
  • Create and deliver training and enablement materials to help educate internal business partners on matters related to privacy and data protection
  • Support privacy incident management under the direction of counsel
  • Help build and maintain processes and infrastructure, such as wiki pages, playbooks, templates, metrics, and self-serve tools, to help scale the privacy function
Who you are
  • You have at least 5 years’ experience as a privacy professional, including in-house experience with a SaaS or other technology company
  • You have expertise with state, federal, and international privacy laws (privacy professional designation such as CIPPUS, CIPPE, CIPM, or CIPT preferred), and you keep yourself up-to-date on the legal and regulatory developments relating to privacy
  • You are excited about the low-code/no-code software development and workflow management landscape, and Airtable’s place within it; you have a general sense of the privacy issues that are most relevant in the space, and how to solve them
  • You’re able to draft documents, policies, emails, and anything else in a precise and digestible manner
  • You’re flexible, resourceful, and solution-oriented. You are excited to help a growing company define its “privacy identity,” to build process and repeatability where there is little. You’re both comfortable saying you don’t have the answer, and confident that you can then go find it.
  • You possess organizational and project management skills, and are able to execute, prioritize, and stay focused in an environment that is expanding and evolving.
  • You have high integrity and excellent judgment, are a clear and thoughtful communicator, and are able to be both strategic and detail-oriented.
  • You’re skilled at building authentic relationships with all kinds of people across many functional teams.
