PeopleTec is currently seeking a Junior Cyber Security Specialist to support our Ogden, UT location.

 

PeopleTec is seeking motivated individuals who are interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting edge technologies to include hypersonics, directed energy, missile defense, and space systems.  The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Hill Air Force Base team in Ogden, Utah and a classified Government contract on Hill Air Force Base addressing cyber security requirements and services and will assist with the development and implementation of information assurance (IA), and security standards and procedures.

Our team supports state-of-the-art projects, by providing knowledge, experience, and resources across a broad range of diverse professional disciplines and functional capabilities. These disciplines and capabilities include areas such as acquisition, administration, business analysis, cybersecurity, engineering, Digital Engineering, finance, integration, mission effectiveness, Nuclear Surety, Program Management, research, risk management, science, strategy development, sustaining engineering, systems engineering, system safety and security, and technical assessment.   • Understanding and developing solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment
  • Planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions for the integration and testing of products
  • Providing solutions that directly support the Government’s mission in terms of cost, schedule, performance, and risk
  • Supporting effective and responsive Systems Engineering and Integration throughout the life cycle of the contract by providing knowledge, experience, and resources

The successful candidate possesses a solid foundation in cybersecurity science or a related field, demonstrating proficiency in networking concepts, protocols, and system architectures, coupled with knowledge of common cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, allowing the candidate to identify and address security issues effectively. Familiarity with security frameworks, tools, and practices, as well as a proactive approach to staying abreast of industry trends and emerging threats, is important. Excellent communication skills are a must, enabling the candidate to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A commitment to continuous learning and a passion for safeguarding digital assets further characterize the ideal candidate.

 

Duties Include:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of information assurance (IA), and security standards and procedures
  • Coordinating, developing, and evaluating security programs for the organization
  • Performing analysis, design, and development of security features
  • Analyzing general information assurance-related technical requirements and providing basic engineering and technical support in solving for those requirements
  • Performing vulnerability/risk analyses of systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle
  • Performing entry-level or development level assignments
  • Assisting in the coordination of joint strategic and operational planning and execution of joint fires, targeting, capability pairing, and threat mitigation in support of Cyber Mission Force and other operations

 

Qualifications

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Sound oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings to the team and the government customer
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment
  • Travel: 20%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

 

Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in the use of static code analysis, the DoD’s risk management framework

  • Hold industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
