Aperio Global, a dynamic and forward-thinking company, is seeking a talented and motivated Software Tool Developer to join our Red Cyber team at Ft. Belvoir, VA. As a Software Tool Developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of our Red Cyber team Operators by creating innovative tools for cyber assessment operations on critical networks without one of our DoD Programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool and Exploit Development: Design and develop cutting-edge tools, exploits, and code specifically tailored for use in red cyber operations. Conduct thorough open-source research on cyber-related vulnerabilities and contribute to exploitation development.
  • Reverse Engineering: Leverage expertise in reverse engineering to analyze source code, facilitating the development of tools and exploits that align with operational requirements.
  • Code Review and Approval Processes: Perform meticulous code reviews for all offensive scripts and code, guiding them through approval processes to ensure compliance with Red Team policies and procedures.
  • TTP Analysis and Automation: Analyze Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTPs) employed in operational scenarios, developing exploits and scripts to automate and enhance operational processes. Emulate adversarial threats and attacks to exploit vulnerabilities in mission-critical networks and systems.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation outlining the safe and secure usage of internally and externally developed tools, adhering to Red Team policies and procedures.
  • Dev Ops Review: Provide support and/or conduct Dev Ops review of code for operational approval, ensuring the seamless integration of developed tools into the operational environment.
  • C2 Tools Development: Utilize existing proof of concept code to build and tailor exploits for Command and Control (C2) tools. Support the development and tuning of C2 tools to increase effectiveness and reduce detection likelihood.
  • Urgent Development Support: Respond to urgent development requests promptly, ensuring the assembly, testing, and approval of tailored tools and exploits within 24 hours of identifying vulnerabilities.
  • Perform long term / short term assessments and Penetration Tests with Cobalt Strike, Kali Linux, Metasploit
  • Experience with, HackTheBox, and HackThisSite
  • Programming in Sleep, python, C++, C#, and shell scripting

 

  • Active Top Secret SSBI or TS/SCI clearance
  • Proven experience in software development, reverse engineering, and scripting (C, C++, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cyber threat landscapes and offensive security techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Security+ and PMP certifications are a plus.
  • Travel 30-40%-.  CONUS/ OCONUS -Different COCOM locations… Germany, Hawaii, Middle East, Korea, Japan, Guam are the key places - and throughout the US”

Requirements
