The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join our Information Technology team.

Reporting to the Director, Development & Quality Assurance the DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for ensuring the standardization, stability, and predictability of release cycles and contribute to driving a culture of continuous improvement. This includes bridging the Development, Quality Assurance, IT Security and Technology Operations functions and bringing seamless flow throughout the software development life cycle. This role will also be responsible for operational monitoring to accelerate feedback loops and provide insights into application health and performance.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead efforts in planning and execution of DevSecOps automation, continuous deployment, and configuration management
  • Sets up and maintains the test environments for both manual and automated testing
  • Contribute to and reviews deployment plans; schedules the installation of new modules, upgrades, and fixes to the production environment spanning software engineering and ML algorithms
  • Implement Quality Management processes to set and measure quality targets, identify quality issues and improvements, and report on the overall level of quality achieved
  • Collaborate effectively across IT functions and actively participate in planning meetings to drive quality releases with measurable results
  • Works closely with architects to assure all systems are in line with the Enterprise Architecture long-term strategy
  • Creates and reviews technical design specifications developed within IT
  • Effectively manage the work streams between the development, testing and operational stages of new IT projects and initiatives
  • Lead teams in designing and building continuous integration processes into IT solutions and test automation efforts throughout the life cycle
  • Implement and manage application monitoring to proactively identify and coordinate resolution of operational system issues
  • Works with engineering, IT security and IT operations teams to build out CI/CD pipelines with best practices around network, infrastructure and security
  • Oversee gap analysis studies for hardening application/network/infrastructure security and performance improvements
  • Contribute to planning and implementation efforts for security testing, disaster recovery, capacity expansion, and system upgrades in on-premises and cloud environments
  • Research new technologies, strategies, and ways to solve technical issues and improve processes
  • Produce and maintain documentation on installations, incidents, and procedures requirements
  • Set up metrics to track and report efficiencies attained via the continuous delivery and automation framework
  • Utilize Scrum and other Agile methodologies to complete tasks and accomplish workflows

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 7 years’ experience in either software development, quality assurance or IT operations capacities with a background in Secure SDLC environments
  • Experience in Agile/SCRUM methodologies, IT Project Management, ITIL and/or leadership skills preferred
  • Experience in the financial industry an asset
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products; IIS, .NET/Java, and SDLC concepts & tools such as Azure DevOps, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, etc.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications & systems using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of environments
  • Excellent presentations skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems, identify, and develop alternate solutions by thinking outside the box
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies
  • Ability to self-conduct research into software/infrastructure-related issues and products
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of IT developing, testing & operations
  • Ability to work independently within a team, multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Fluent Communication skills in English are required and bilingual communication skills in French are an asset
