Company Description

NielsenIQ is looking to mature our Cybersecurity Program. To support that effort, we are looking for a Cyber Threat Junior Engineer who will be responsible for the development and improvement of security automation capabilities in our Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platform. This Engineer will work with the Global Cyber Threat Security Operations team to identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency of incident response processes. The Engineer will collect requirements and build automated workflows in the SOAR platform, and will be responsible for troubleshooting automation failures.

The Engineer will also be accountable for collecting metrics and producing dashboards to report on Cyber Threat Security Operations ability to deliver services to the organization. In addition, the candidate may assist the Incident Response team in resolving security incidents. This position interacts with a wide range of stakeholders both within Cybersecurity, Technology and with cross-functional teams. This role has a high impact across the enterprise, and the selected candidate will engage with security, technology, and certain business units to affect change.

Job Description

  • Develop security automation capabilities using SOAR
  • Troubleshoot SOAR application and integration issues, submit support tickets and feature requests to vendor and follow through until resolution
  • Define and maintain dashboards and metrics that support the Incident Response Program and Cyber Threat Security Operations maturity efforts.
  • Collaborate with the team to mature the people, process, and technologies present in a 24x7 global cyber threat security operations center.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as cyber engineers to support larger security initiatives, assessments, and resilience testing.
  • Assist in developing operational procedures which then ensure that all cyber-attacks are minimized, aggressively detected, mitigated, and countered using countermeasures like Moving-Target Defenses (MTD).

Qualifications

  • Self-driven personality, technology and cyber security enthusiast
  • Inventive mindset, able to come up with multiple approaches when solving problems, and research/test independently
  • Ability to gather requirements of existing manual processes and convert to automated workflows
  • Desire to create change and move the needle along with the ability to execute with discipline
  • Relentless focus on security, fearless to challenge the status quo (diplomatically)
  • Able to operate in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity
  • BS degree in Computer Science or 1-2 years of experience in security operations, with a focus on security automation and orchestration
  • Working knowledge of Python and interacting with REST APIs. Experience working with Jinja or other templating engine is a plus
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team members, and upper management
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity incident response, network security, and endpoint monitoring
