Cybersecurity Intern 

Assists with the organization, development, and administration of cybersecurity infrastructure, documentation and governance systems.  Communicates and works across multiple functional departments towards continuous improvement. 

 What you’ll do: 

  • Provide organizational support of the company’s ISO 27001 cybersecurity program and processes 
  • Edit, analyze and draft cybersecurity policies and procedures in compliance with NIST and ISO standards 
  • Assist with the development and administration of training infrastructure and processes 
  • Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support
  • Review service performance reports identifying any significant issues and variances, initiating, where necessary, corrective actions and ensuring that all outstanding issues are followed-up; 
  • Address cybersecurity requirements in customer contractual language
  • Assist in efforts to handle security incidents or investigations 
  • Support the creation of responsive documentation to customer inquiries  
  • Identify gaps or potential enhancements in existing security practices  
  • Take ownership and deliver, from end to end, work packages and project allocated to you 
  • Keep your Line Manager and peers well informed of your activities, workload and availability.  

 Requirements: 

Sixteen (16) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area.  Degree candidate preferred. 

  • Familiarity with the various Cybersecurity Frameworks 
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.  Proficiency and interest in technical writing.  
  • Experience and/or interest to present technical topics to audiences with various technical backgrounds 
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy; 
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities 
  • Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses 
  • Knowledge of information technology (IT) architectural concepts and frameworks 
  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements 
  • Skills in problem solving 
  • Experience or knowledge of project management (including stakeholder management) 
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive work ethic
