National Vision is currently looking for a Compliance Manager, available for hybrid work in the National Vision office in Duluth, GA. Hybrid work blends time spent in the office and remote based on business needs. 

This role will work directly with the Compliance Officer and members of the Legal Department and other stakeholders to design, implement and manage the Company's compliance program. This role supports the Privacy Officer in all health care privacy and data security [HIPAA] functions, and works with the Legal and IT security team on privacy related issues. This role also is responsible for ensuring compliance with and driving strategy related to Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs [OFCCP], Affirmative Action Programs, and related laws and regulations. This position interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, legal counsel and regulators.
 

Job Description

What Would You Do? The Specifics.

  • Works in coordination with the Compliance Officer to implement and maintain all aspects of the compliance program, consistent with the expectations of the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Justice, state attorney general offices and consumer protection bureaus, and applicable state laws and regulations.
  • Collaborates across teams to support the legal and operational compliance requirements for key strategic initiatives, and to address compliance-related legal and regulatory concerns.
  • Manages compliance with the Company incident reporting systems to ensure proper case handling, investigation and follow-up, and report key metrics.
  • Manages compliance with the Company medical records request processes to ensure proper handling and response.
  • Supports the Privacy Officer and Security Officer in developing and implementing policies, processes training and oversight for information and data lifecycle management, and other related areas as appropriate.
  • Develops, updates and monitors the Company’s EEO and Affirmative Action Programs and plans, as well as internal and external communication to make sure all applicable rules, regulations, and contractual obligations are met. These responsibilities include managing external vendor relationships and overseeing data collection and compliance reporting preparation.
  • Creates and maintains compliance dashboard to monitor compliance program reporting and tracking.
  • Prepares reports for the Compliance Committee, Audit Committee, Board of Directors and other Senior Management.

 

Qualifications


Work Experience

  • 6+ years of related experience and/or training. (Required)
  • 3+ years of compliance management. Healthcare or regulatory preferred. (Required)
  • Prior experience with demonstrated proficiency in applying federal and state health care privacy laws and regulations and implementing program improvements to meet Company strategies. (Required)
  • Prior OFCCP, AAP, or EEO regulatory experience with demonstrated proficiency in applying compliance laws and regulations and implementing program improvements to meet Company strategies. (Required)

Education

  • Two years of college or equivalent experience. Required
  • Four year college degree or equivalent experience. Preferred

Additional Skills

  • intermediate: Presentation/PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing Required
  • Compliance Programs and Processes: Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of corporate compliance, healthcare privacy and OFCCP programs and processes, including audit activities and reporting requirements. Required
  • Interpersonal Skills: able to interpret concerns and is able to work with a wide range of associates, teams, supervisors and senior managers. Required
  • Analytical Thinking: Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis, and resolve complex problems quickly Required
  • Oral and Written Communication: Effectively conveys information and ideas in concise and meaningful exchanges through written and verbal communication Required
  • Multi-Tasker: Can effectively handle several problems or tasks at once. Required
  • Detail Oriented: Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks Required
