The Lead SOC Analyst role will provide third-tier support to our clients, and internal stakeholders; they will test and implement new features and rules, conduct research through threat hunting, profile web applications to proactively create rules to mitigate would-be attackers. The Lead SOC Analyst will help design and implement deployment strategies for our in-house built WAF through a deep understanding of cloud and containerized technologies. Candidate will also be available to lead SOC collegues to help them achieve the best resolutions and solutions possible. Through automation of day-to-day or common tasks focus on strategic functions of the SOC.

Requirements

  • Experience & Knowlege of Linux based Systems; very comfortable with using only CLI to accomplish tasks, but not averse to using GUI if needed. Able to automate common security tasks via commandline scripting. High comfort level with explaining these items to laymen.
  • Deep working knowledge of firewall security applications (TCP/IP), namely HTTP/HTTPS (including their headers) and web application protocols such as websockets. Ability to explain settings, rules and other firewall facets to laymen.
  • Scripting - knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, JavaScript, AWS, any form of cloud hosting and virtualization and containers).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to easily break down technical jargon into layman's terms.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Investigative mindset, with strong desire to not only achieve results but our ability to build processes to automate and gather same data later; comfort with automating or leading tasks for the team.
  • DNS - comprehensive knowledge of records and their syntax, specifically for NS, A, CNAME and some forms of TXT records.
  • Certificate knowledge - Basic understanding of certificates, public/private key pairs and the methods used by SSL/TLS. Experience with OpenSSL a plus!
