We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure that our products maintain all necessary operating licenses and adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. The Compliance Officer will play a critical role in identifying potential compliance risks related to licensing requirements, implementing policies and procedures to obtain and renew licenses, and monitoring ongoing compliance efforts to mitigate risk and protect the company's reputation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the acquisition, renewal, and maintenance of all necessary operating licenses required for products ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Manage the application and renewal processes as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, legal, finance, and engineering, to assess compliance risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of product implementations to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry standards and proactively implement updates to policies and procedures as needed.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams on compliance-related matters, including data privacy, advertising disclosure requirements, and payment processing protocols.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance incidents, including conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities, audits, and incident responses.
  • Serve as a point of contact for regulatory inquiries, audits, and examinations, and coordinate responses and remediation efforts as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, Compliance, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification in compliance or regulatory affairs is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience  in a compliance role within the payment industry (the ideal candidate has experience working globally)
  • Experience managing operating licenses for monetization or similar activities, including application, renewal, and compliance monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, FTC guidelines, and payment card industry (PCI) compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance risks, assess potential impact, and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
