Team

Product Security is shifting-left and enabling ServiceNow engineers to build-in security throughout the SDLC.  The DevSecOps team builds, integrates, and scales security services to help ServiceNow simplify security activities for thousands of internal customers.

Role

As a DevSecOps Manager, you’ll be responsible for supervising a team that develops and validates our cloud infrastructure, container scanning, and tool integrations for our internal security service offerings.  You’ll work closely with the scrum team and a Product Owner to set goals, coordinate/monitor/report on cross functional work, and deliver cloud infrastructure for Application Security as well as provide the best developer experience with Container Scan services.  In addition, you’ll work with peer DevSecOps teams as well as Product Security groups such as Testing, Research, and Secure Software Development to understand opportunities for infrastructure workflow automation.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Manage/Develop a team (6-8 engineers) of Cloud Native Security engineers with a passion for building the best developer experience for our security services
  • Develop formal team processes, metrics, and drive adoption
  • Set quarterly goals (OKRs) with the team
  • Coordinate, monitor, and report on key results for the team
  • Coach for growth and performance
  • Identify, communicate, and recommend best practices for Cloud Native Security and Development
  • Partner with and lead technical discussions with the other engineering teams
  • Collaborate with team on day-to-day activities, prioritize and drive to deadlines.
  • Work closely with product management, design, support, development, and other security teams to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Be comfortable and use critical thinking to solve ambiguous problems

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

  • 6+ years of experience leading a development team with emphasis on cloud native development, quality processes, delivery, operations, and support
  • Experience operating internal security services at scale in the cloud (AWS)
  • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to partner with teams across the company to deliver high impact outcomes 
  • Plans to ensure critical resources are lined up for organizational priorities and addresses risks and contingencies
  • Strong written communication skills to deliver technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to both non-technical business users as well as technical stakeholders
  • Provides useful real-time coaching and recommends development activities and stretch assignments to team
  • Fosters an environment that encourages and enables the team to build skills and develop their careers
  • Provides direction, delegates, and removes obstacles to get work done
  • Gathers and analyzes feedback from stakeholders to improve the developer experience
  • Streamline agile processes to improve efficiency and consistency in application delivery
  • Developer level proficiency in at least one of the following languages - Python, Groovy, or Shell

It would be nice if you had…

  • Knowledge of container security chain risk 
  • Knowledge of network and system security hardening
  • Offensive Security OSWE and/or OSCP certification(s)
