JOB OVERVIEW:

The Information Security Engineer (ISE) will be responsible for defining, delivering and supporting the enterprise security tools and architecture developed in collaboration with the Cloud Engineering team. The ISE will also participate in a diverse variety of IS projects and support the ongoing operations of the Information Security department. The ISE is be focused on securing the Bank's cloud environments (public & hybrid) through custom and 3rd party tools.

Principal ISEs own a segment of our overarching strategy and are seen as the subject matter expert for the Bank in that area. They advocate to improve the environment for their segment to IS and Bank leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as a security engineer/consultant on cloud projects.
• Define and implement the strategy for a segment of our cloud security approach.
• Engineer and implement well-architected solutions while adhering to software development best practices.
• Design, test, and implement solutions at the Initiative level.
• Define security requirements for the implementation of new applications and projects.
• Participate in conducting security research on threats and remediation techniques/ technology, make recommendations to the IS/IT teams and oversee their implementation.
• Support the Bank's operational information security responsibilities, including the development maintenance of standards, procedures, and guidelines necessary to satisfy the Information Security department's network operations.
• Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal auditors, as required, to respond to audits and examinations of the Bank's control environment.
• Mentor and lead a squad from a technical perspective.
• Work with product owner to align business processes to technical timelines.
• Communicate complex technical problems/ solutions to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
• Seeking and maintaining knowledge (cross/up skill) of current and upcoming IT security technologies.
• Understand virtualization/containerization technologies.​

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• 8+ years of IT work experience relevant to the position.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with a scripting or coding language, preferably Python.    
• Demonstrate ability to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to management, business and IT sponsors, and technical resources in language that is appropriate for each group.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Demonstrate understanding of Infrastructure as Code best practices and strong experience with building Terraform modules and CloudFormation stacks for AWS cloud.     
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SDLC, version control and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile methodologies and development.
• Experience AWS serverless technologies and containerized workloads.
• Experience working with and supporting Unix/Linux and Windows systems.
• Working knowledge of application and data security concepts, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
• Industry Standard Certifications (such as, but not limited to): AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solution Architect associate, CompTIA Security +, ISC2 CISSP, and SANS.
• Master's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in the Financial industry.
