Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team.  This is a 100% remote opportunity.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consult and provide security best practice recommendations to engineering, integration, database, and network staff, management, and key stakeholders including the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Information System Security Officer (ISSO).

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and policies in alignment with the DoD's requirements and guidelines.

  • Assess and analyze the organization's current cybersecurity posture and identify vulnerabilities or areas of weakness.

  • Collaborate with Developers to integrated security into DevOps pipeline.

  • Lead efforts to obtain ATOs for DoD Systems. Prepare and review documentation required for
    ATO submission including Security Control Assessments (SCA) and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).

  • Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access control mechanisms, and data encryption.

  • Conduct tabletop exercises to establish procedure for any incident and documentation of incident response including roles and responsibilities.

  • Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Monitor and analyze network traffic, logs, and security events to detect and respond to security incidents.

  • Investigate and resolve security breaches, incidents, and vulnerabilities in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to provide cybersecurity awareness training and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.

  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and regulations to continuously improve the organization's security posture.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and incident response plans.

  • Prepare and present reports on cybersecurity metrics, incidents, and risk assessments to management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

  • Five (5) years of experience in system administration and/or system engineering.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent.

  • Strong knowledge of DoD security regulations and frameworks such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

  • Knowledge of US Government Security regulations and methodologies, FISMA/FedRAMP, NIST, SP 800-53, and CNSSI 1253.

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing cybersecurity solutions in a DoD environment.

  • Familiarity with network security technologies, tools, and protocols such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks.

  • Proficiency in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing.

  • Experience with incident response and handling security incidents.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance on cybersecurity matters.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • US citizenship with a secret clearance or ability to obtain up to a secret level clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,200-$149,600. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
