We are pleased to announce the contingent opening for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer who will join our Information Technology Department in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for building cutting-edge, secure, and reliable solutions that empower our customers to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. Our Platform Engineering & DevSecOps team plays a pivotal role in this mission, and we are seeking a talented and passionate engineer to join our ranks.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team, making critical decisions and setting technical direction.
  • Platform Development: Drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of our platform infrastructure to meet business and customer needs.
  • Architecture and Scalability: Collaborate with architects to design scalable and resilient systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Security Integration: Drive the integration of security practices into the software development and deployment pipeline, including code scanning, vulnerability assessment, and security testing.
  • Security Policies: Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices in collaboration with the security team.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Champion best practices for testing, code review, and quality assurance to deliver reliable and secure software.
  • Automation: Champion the automation of security testing and compliance checks to ensure fast and secure software delivery. Automate infrastructure creation and configuration, ensuring that every operation is repeatable.
  • Tooling and Technology: Evaluate, select, and implement DevSecOps tools and technologies to enhance the security and efficiency of our pipelines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and ensure seamless integration of platform services with other systems.
  • Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for platform processes, security processes, procedures, configurations, and best practices.
  • Mentoring: Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering field such as Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • You will need 4+ years of full-time professional experience.  Prefer 4+ years of experience in DevSecOps
  • You must possess or can obtain an active Top Secret clearance.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, or related roles.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, etc), including designing Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and practices, including Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and security/vulnerability scanning and remediation
  • Experience with designing, creating, supporting, and debugging containerized environments, especially in Kubernetes.
  • AWS or Azure certifications
  • In-depth experience with Terraform, including designing reusable modules and complex state management
  • Experience designing Helm charts, managing resources in GitOps-style deployments (Flux, ArgoCD, etc), and debugging service mesh issues with Istio
  • Experience in implementing secure solutions in regulated environments.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages and technologies relevant to platform development.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Effective technical writing skills to assist in the contract proposal process
  • A passion for technology and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.
