Cybersecurity Weapons Systems Engineer

Key Role: 

Provide technical expertise and guidance on the cybersecurity aspects of weapon systems and space systems. Work closely with the Booz Allen Cyber-physical Defense team and other stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate cyber threats and vulnerabilities affecting mission success in the space domain. Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity solutions, mitigations, and best practices for space systems and operations. Conduct cyber threat analysis and Mission-based Cyber Risk Assessments for space systems and operations, including satellites, ground stations, and command and control networks. Provide cybersecurity recommendations and solutions for space systems and operations, based on industry standards and best practices. Develop and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including procedures, plans, reports, and briefings. Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners, including across Booz Allen, other government agencies, industry, and academia, on cybersecurity issues and initiatives related to space systems and operations. Provide cybersecurity training and awareness for space defense personnel and other stakeholders. Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, technologies, and threats in the space domain.

Basic Qualifications:   

  • Experience with Cybersecurity Engineering for Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems

  • Experience with red team penetration testing or offensive penetration testing, or cyber threat emulation 

  • Knowledge of red teaming, security operations, or hunt 

  • Knowledge of open security testing standards and projects, such as OWASP and ATT&CK 

  • Ability to convey results in the form of technical reports 

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with Cybersecurity Engineering for Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems, or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or Engineering and 2+ years of experience with Cybersecurity Engineering for Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems

Additional Qualifications:   

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph 

  • Ability to identify security requirements for connected and non-connected systems 

  • CISSP Certification 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
