Job Description

A day in the life of a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer

As a Cybersecurity Infrastructure Engineer, you will be a part of a vibrant team

Your main duties will be: 

  1. Support the management of the Cybersecurity Directorate infrastructure, including configuvration of servers (HW and virtual), patching and update tasks of OS’s and applications. Tvhe main working OS will be Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  2. Design and implement svecurity baselines for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  3. Perform configuration management with Ansible.
  4. Design Infrastructure as Code v(IaC) resources for deploying resources in the cloud (AWS/Azure).
  5. Support specific solutions like high available storage systems.
  6. Analyse, design and implement solutions for meeting specific needs and in line with the evolution of the working methods of the European Parliament and especially with the DG ITEC game changers (Cloud and AI).
  7. In collaboration with the teams of the unit, design and implement vulnerability and application security scanning solutions.
  8. Setup and administer penetration testing infrastructure.
  9. Test products, realise prototypes and Proof of Concepts for both hardware and software products (migrations, upgrades, patches, etc.) taking into account their integration within the European Parliament technical environment.
  10. Analyse the standards available for the protection and monitoring of highly secure systems and their relevance for the European Parliament.
  11. Support in producing documentation and reports (installation, configuration guidance, assessment reports, etc.).
  12. Supervise, design, develop and test new and existing system software for ad-hoc needs.
     

Qualifications

If you have :

  1. Master's degree
  2. At least 1 ICT professional certification
  3. At least three years related to ICT security management.
  4. At least two years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer for major security-related projects
  5. Very good knowledge of both written and oral English (proficient user - C level, according to the EuropassLanguage Passport classification) is mandatory.
  6. Good command of French is an asset.
  7. Knowledge of Splunk Enterprise administration will be considered as an advantage.
  8. Knowledge of solutions for managing containers will be considered as an advantage.
  9. Operating systems management and operations with a focus on Linux and more precisely Red Hat Enterprise.
  10. Storage solutions.
  11. Operations and configuration of Splunk and other security-related solutions (SIEMs, Nessus, ...).
  12. Design of security architectures;
  13. ICT resources management automation.
  14. Writing reports and analyses of documents.

Be available in the period preceding the European Election and during the Election weekend for performing ad hoc tasks belonging to the competence domain and in relation to the Elections.
