A Day in the Life of a Leader Cybersecurity Consultant

As a Leader Cybersecurity Consultant, you will be a part of a vibrant team

Your main duties will be:

1. Collaborate with project and application owners to design, implement, and maintain a high level of ICT Security;
2. Contribute to analyze risks according to state-of-the-art methodologies and practices;
3. Elaborate ICT Security requirements for in-house and outsourced projects and applications including the ones based on Cloud architectures;
4. Propose and review architectures for security systems;
5. Assess security settings on various kinds of ICT components;
6. Follow up on ICT Security activities in the projects, and provide support to project managers;
7. Conduct Security testing/assessment throughout the projects;
8. Identify non-compliance with the European Parliament Security Policy and Security Standards.
9. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the techniques and methods used to evaluate the security of information systems
10. Provide support for remediating Security vulnerabilities or issues;
11. Evaluating the effectiveness of security controls and recommending improvements;
12. Assess security aspects of products and solutions; Provide recommendations for security hardening.
13. Provide technical support to the Security Assurance. Perform regular vulnerability scans using automatic or manual scanners;
14. Perform technical compliance checks against reference configurations (Windows, Linux/Unix);
15. Develop system software (e.g. scripts for automated configuration, system analysis, alerting) and maintain security systems/servers;
16. Perform technological watch including on alerts for the newly discovered vulnerabilities.
17. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of security trends, threats, and mitigation strategies.
18. Draft documentation and reports on:
    a. Detected vulnerabilities
     b. Indicators of the vulnerability management process.
19. Interact daily with the management and other ICT operations teams (network, data center, applications/system owners and others)
     a. Daily review alerts, notable events, incidents, ...
     b. Follow-up of the detected vulnerabilities
     c. Be available for managing unplanned events and work under pressure, occasionally outside the normal working hours in case of severe security incidents
     d. Report relevant events to the management.

Qualifications

If you have 

1. Master's degree
2. At least 1 ICT professional certification
3. At least three years related to ICT security management.
4. At least two years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer for major security-related projects
5. Very good knowledge of both written and oral English (proficient user - C level, according to the EuropassLanguage Passport classification) is mandatory.
6. A good command of French is an asset.
   
   Be available in the period preceding the European Election and during the Election weekend for performing ad hoc tasks belonging to the competence domain and in relation with the Elections.
