Product Engineer, Cloud Security SaaS, Philippines

We are looking for motivated product engineers to join our engineering team as part of a high-growth B2B SaaS company. You will be designing and building in AWS, processing data at scale, analyzing real-world cloud data for security vulnerabilities and delivering security insights through innovative visualization and analytics features in our Cloud Security platform.   You have a strong interest in cloud technology and enjoy the fast-paced and dynamic culture of building in the Cloud. You have a builder mindset and are always curious about emerging cloud technology. You enjoy using open-source tools, appreciate containerization technology, and have a strong interest in security in the cloud.  You are an individual who is humble, values feedback, is curious and eager to be part of a winning team that is distributed in Europe and Asia to build a SaaS product that secures cloud infrastructure across the top Cloud Service Providers like AWS, GCP and Azure. 

What you’ll be doing

• Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle with Agile Scrum methodology and deliver new features on a continuous basis, while maintaining and scaling existing features 
• Rapidly build prototypes to test and validate product features 
• Design and implement event-driven services in AWS with Serverless technologies (AWS Lambda, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, Neptune) 
• Own end-to-end development for feature sets, from frontend implementation to backend APIs 
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize the performance of our backend processing services 
• Optimize our application framework that runs security rules written by our cybersecurity specialists 
• Collaborate daily with a small, nimble team of product managers, engineers, and cybersecurity specialists to understand business requirements and product goals 

Who are we looking for

• You have at least 2 years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record as a software engineer 
• You are proficient in backend development using Python and/or Typescript and have a good grasp of event-driven architecture 
• You have experience in building GraphQL APIs in production 
• You are proficient in SQL, and are comfortable with using it with or without an ORM 
• You enjoy building graph visualizations and dashboarding, for observability of what you have built 
• You are looking forward to designing and building products with AWS and serverless technologies 
• You write good quality code, that can be safely co-authored in a fast-growing organization 
• You are a team player, and you understand that collaboration is crucial in a team 
• You have a growth mindset, and seek to continually improve your knowledge and capability 
• You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience 

Bonus points if you have

• Frontend development experience with React 
• AWS cloud certifications and/or AWS experience 
• You have worked with NoSQL databases 
• You have worked for a SaaS company 
• You have full-time remote work experience 

What your team will be doing

• Strengthening Bitdefender’s position as a multi-cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) Enterprise Security SaaS 
• Build data ingestion services that collect a massive amount of data from the cloud 
• Work on scalable data pipelines that perform deep analysis on cyber security insights 
• Integrate with enterprise SaaS platforms like Github, Slack, Datadog and Splunk 
• Provide external APIs that are used by cyber security professionals and software development teams 
• Deliver real-time notifications of security alerts to our customers 
• Build upon a modern web application as we pride ourselves as the security platform with the best user experience
