Cloud Security Research Engineer, Philippines

Horangi – A Bitdefender Company, is looking for motivated Cloud Security Engineers to analyze cloud infrastructure, identify security gaps and misconfigurations, and encode security insights into our security product. You will codify your research into rules that will run on our cloud engine and inspect the critical cloud infrastructure of our customers.
Your findings will identify vulnerabilities in the cloud infrastructure across the top Cloud Service Providers and provide remediation recommendations based on security best practices to our customers, many of whom are cloud innovators across the world. 

What you’ll be doing

• Analyze cloud infrastructure data across top cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud and Alibaba Cloud) and have deep understanding of how their cloud technologies work 
• Identify security misconfigurations and weaknesses in production cloud infrastructure 
• Encode security inspection and build rules within our cloud engine 
• Create remediation solutions for cloud vulnerabilities using NodeJS and Terraform 
• Participate in our agile development with a nimble team of product managers, engineers, and cybersecurity specialists 
• Make critical decisions based on security best practices and standards, cloud provider characteristics, and various stakeholders’ requirements 

Who are we looking for

• You have at least 2 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps or building in the Cloud 
• You have a good understanding of how various cloud services work for at least one of the Cloud Service Providers like AWS, GCP, Azure, Huawei Cloud or Alibaba Cloud 
• You have a strong understanding of cloud security concepts (IAM, policies, security groups etc)
• You understand the risk of having a publicly accessible data bucket and the impact when exploited
• You are comfortable coding with Python
• You have a strong interest in emerging cloud technologies, the latest cyber security trends and vulnerabilities 
• You want to develop your career in Cloud Technology and Cyber Security 
• You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience 

Bonus points if you have

• Relevant cloud certification is a strong bonus 
• Relevant Information security certifications, e.g. CCSP, OSCP, CISSP, SANS 
• Experience with compliance standards and guidelines, e.g. ISO27001, CIS, SOC2 
• Prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields

What your team will be doing

• Strengthening Bitdefender’s position as a multi-cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure) Enterprise Security SaaS 
• Build data ingestion services that collect a massive amount of data from the cloud 
• Work on scalable data pipelines that perform deep analysis on cyber security insights 
• Integrate with enterprise SaaS platforms like Github, Slack, Datadog and Splunk 
• Provide external APIs that are used by cyber security professionals and software development teams 
• Deliver real-time notifications of security alerts to our customers 
• Build upon a modern web application as we pride ourselves as the security platform with the best user experience
