About the Role

We have an exciting and unique opportunity for you to join the rapidly expanding security industry in a mid-level position.

We are looking for an experienced GSOC Lead Operator to support our Events team embedded within our client’s Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) based in Arlington, VA. You will be required to manage and investigate alarms while appropriately dispatching security and/or emergency response personnel. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will be required to provide a top-notch customer service experience through phone calls and emails with the client’s customers.

Uniquely, you will also be required to travel both internationally and domestically to embed in an Event Operations Center to support safety and security initiatives for client sponsored events. Success in this role will require flexibility, bias for action, and a wide range of technical and interpersonal skills. You will frequently be operating autonomously with external teams and limited direct supervision. Time management and continuous task prioritization is crucial to delivering support services in this dynamic, fast paced environment. The duties and responsibilities required for this role apply to both event support and standard operations.

Outside of events, this role is a standard Monday through Friday mid-shift schedule (1000-1645). Otherwise, hours will be determined based on the needs of the event. You may be expected to work overnight, holidays, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Monitor CCTV and alarms, dispatching security or emergency response personnel to assist in mitigating safety and security hazards.
  • Integrate with external teams to support client focused initiatives.
  • Investigate and triage security incidents.
  • Utilize various communication platforms to escalate security issues and investigative findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of GSOC and event specific standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate a varying sized team of operators to triage incidents and crisis, both in a GSOC and event setting.
  • Draft, review, and distribute stakeholder and emergency notifications.
  • Write and/or quality check event incident logbooks and reports detailing the GSOC’s response to incidents and crises.
  • Understand and implement incident/crisis management tactics without strict guidelines and limited direct supervision.
  • Assess various intelligence products to determine probability and severity of incident impact to client assets, people, property, or brand.
  • Participate in tabletop exercises and feedback sessions pre and post event.
  • Provide first line assistance to corporate employees and travelers in all concerns relating to safety and security.
  • Coordinate with multiple partner teams simultaneously and follow proper procedures to manage a variety of incidents, from minor incidents at the local level to global crises.
  • Display excellent customer service through radio, phone calls, emails, and any type of interactions with customers.
  • Manage personal travel budget and report expenses.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Minimum

  • Prior experience in a GSOC, Security Operations Center (SOC), TOC, or similar.
  • Experience with security systems, including alarm monitoring, electronic access control, and CCTV.
  • Must be able to travel approximately 60% of the time annually, both internationally and domestically.
  • Must have a United States passport and be able to maintain it.
  • Must be able to obtain work permits, visas, and/or other as needed to support event travel.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous situations with a self-starting mentality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, at times stressed work environment.
  • Comfortable with a high-tech working environment and willing to learn new tools and innovations.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of different shifts and willingness to assist the team with overtime when needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite.

Preferred

  • Experience in Event Security or Security Project Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs/Relations/Business, Emergency Management, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related discipline.
  • Experience with mass communications system.

Interview process: 

  • Initial call with our Talent Acquisition team member.
  • Timed written assessment (arranged at the time that suits you) to test writing and analytical capability.
  • Panel interview with some of the team members and hiring managers at Sibylline.
  • Meet and greet with the client.

The remuneration for this role is negotiable for the right candidate, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.  The hourly range for this role is between $28.00 - $30.00
