About this role

As a Security Engineer at Gartner, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the security of our systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with the Enterprise Security Engineer to implement and manage a wide range of security solutions. Your expertise in Zscaler, network security, data protection, and cloud-based security will be essential in protecting Gartner's assets and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our information.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security solutions across the organization.

  • Manage and support Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA/ZDX) and network-based proxies to ensure secure internet access and protect against threats.

  • Implement and manage data protection measures, including data loss prevention (DLP) solutions and cloud access security brokers (CASB).

  • Configure and maintain network security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).

  • Deploy and manage host-based and endpoint security solutions to protect endpoints and servers.

  • Evaluate and implement cloud-based security solutions to secure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environments like AWS and Azure.

  • Establish and maintain secure remote access solutions to enable secure connectivity for remote workers.

  • Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends and make recommendations for improvement and enhancement of security controls.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement remediation plans.

  • Participate in security incident response activities and provide technical expertise during security incidents.

  • Document security processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.

What you will need 

Strong security engineer professional with 2 + years’ experience of working on IT security projects in a fast-paced, time-bound environment.

Must have

  • Strong knowledge of networking and security fundamentals, including TCP/IP, SSL, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NACLs, certificates, encryption, routing, switching, etc.

  • Solid understanding of proxies, firewalls, zero trust networks, and VPNs.

  • Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) in Azure and AWS, active directory, host-based firewall, and CASB.

  • Familiarity with endpoint security solutions, DLP (Data Loss Prevention), anti-virus, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with technical and business audiences.

  • Proficiency in documentation and creating network/workflow/UML/Data flow diagrams.

  • Skilled in technical troubleshooting across various aspects of security and network infrastructure.

  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions or escalations with minimal supervision in a dynamic and globally distributed team environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 74,000 USD - 113,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
