About you

The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for safeguarding Applaudo’s and clients digital assets by proactively identifying and addressing vulnerabilities within their information systems and networks. The primary aim is to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data by employing a comprehensive suite of analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to assess security posture, develop remediation strategies, and enhance the organization's defensive capabilities.

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ Years experience in IT, 2 of them in IT Security Roles.
• Threat modelling, penetration testing against cloud environments and/or mobile (iOS/Android).
• Network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth).
• Computer networking concepts and protocols, application and network security methodologies.
• Cybersecurity and Penetration testing certifications with specialization in Mobile and Web testing.
• Good Communication skills.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving.
• Penetration Testing Skills.
• Desirable advanced English 

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

• Proactively research new attack vectors that may affect Applaudo and clients 
• Research and implement automated code security quality gates  
• Be a subject matter expert for security in Applaudo and clients. 
• Present findings, recommendations and results to relevant stakeholders 
• Manual and automated vulnerability pentesting.  
• Review tech specs and suggest feedback to build secure products  
• Enhance in-house security testing framework. 
• Log and track vulnerabilities. 
• Generate automated reports. 
• Design, build, and automate security, privacy and app/systems hardening mechanisms across available platforms.
• Operate cross-functionally with business units and stakeholders to deeply understand the job to be done to securely enable fast software development and business growth. 
• Platform security architecture reviews and threat modeling  
• Stay ahead of emerging threats and the application of best practices in cybersecurity to protect organizational interests and maintain compliance with relevant regulations (Health, Data Protection, Information Security, etc.). 
• Addressing any security matter in Applaudo and Client systems, from security testing, hardening, compliance auditing, incident response, as required. 

Qualifications

• Facilitate and implement improvements in processes to guarantee the efficiency of operations.
• Generate changes as necessary, involving stakeholders and work teams using process improvement methods and tools.
• Promoting the culture of continuous improvement in the company.
