A day in the life of a Cloud Security Engineer

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be a part of the vibrant team of our highly skilled Cybersecurity Technology Department of the Information Security organization. Your everyday life will mainly consist of designing and implementing Cloud Security Solutions:

Your main duties will be:

• Design, implement, and maintain cloud security solutions to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security measures into the development and deployment processes.
• Conduct threat modeling exercises to identify potential security risks and vulnerabilities in cloud architectures, applications, and services, and work with stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures related to cloud security controls, configurations, and incident response protocols.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies relevant to cloud computing, and make recommendations for enhancements to security posture.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to Cloud Security.

• The option to be engaged in mid-term missions abroad at EU institutes, mainly in the Benelux region.

Qualifications

If you have

• University degree in Computer Engineering or another relevant field
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in delivering Cloud services with focus on securing Azure environments.
• Solid understanding of diverse cloud computing technologies, encompassing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS)
• Experience with cloud security in Microsoft Azure, showcasing proficiency in safeguarding cloud-based environments.
• Strong methodical mindset and problem-solving acumen, facilitating the identification and resolution of cloud security challenges.
• Comprehensive knowledge of fortifying cloud-hosted data and applications against a spectrum of threats.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written)

It would also be a plus if you

• Master’s degree in information security
• Relevant Microsoft Azure credentials and Microsoft Security credentials will be considered a plus.
