The purpose of this position is to monitor security in all areas of Dubai Tram Al Sufouh System and to provide prompt, up-to-date and clear information from the control room to the passengers at stations and onboard trains.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for controlling the security in all areas of Dubai Tram Al Sufouh System such as office buildings, stations, depots, any auxiliary buildings and car parks.
  • Maintain good communications with Customer Service Operators on the tram lines.
  • Utilise CCTV to monitor security and related operations and to focus on areas where crime, vandalism, anti-social behaviour or other unauthorised activities may occur and to direct Customer Services Operators appropriately.
  • Direct Customer Services Operators to respond and deal with incidents and events on the system and communicate with other frontline staff of events on the system.
  • Act as the central point of contact between the DTAS and the Dubai Police Force (and or other Security, Enforcement and Governmental Agencies) to counter fare evasion, crime, anti-social behaviour, assault and security threats on the system.
  • Access the CCTV and telecommunications recording systems for investigation purposes.
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
  • Alert and inform the Chief Controller of security incidents on the system.
  • Provide prompt, up-to-date and clear information from the control centre to passengers at stations and onboard trams.
  • Assist Chief Controller by organising external communications.
  • Monitor the passenger movements at stations (platforms) and onboard trams and liaise with Customer Services Operators and Tram Drivers for passenger management.
  • Monitor operation of station systems, such as escalators, elevators, TVMs, fire detection, etc.
  • Liaise with Customer Services Operators and ensure all tram movements are co-ordinated during abnormal operation.
  • Perform shift and emergency duties when required.
  • Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Chief Controller.
  • Awareness of the Integrated Management System and the content of the Health, Safety, Quality & Environment and Information Security Policy Statements.
  • Understanding of personal responsibilities and contribution to achieving compliance with the Integrated Management System requirements, (including but not limited to competence to perform safety critical roles, legal requirements, control measures arisen from environmental impacts and aspects, job safety analysis and information security risk assessment) and the potential consequences of departure from the arrangements in place to deliver the commitments stated in the policies statements above.
  • To exercise a personal duty of care for their own health, safety and welfare and for those affected by their acts or omission.
  • To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intended and observe that this is also enforced among subcontractors and third parties working in Keolis-MHI’s controlled premises/systems.
  • Promote a good HSQE and Information Security culture among their peers, subcontractors and third parties.
  • Lead by example and look at ways to conserve energy, water and resources and minimise the generation of waste through personal performance and raise recommendations on how to improve existing processes on this regard within/outside their departments through their Line Manager, Departmental Safety Meetings and any other appropriate available channels.
  • Protect information assets and data including both electronic and paper based from all threats whether internal, external, deliberate or accidental.
  • Promote a good HSQE and Information Security culture among their peers, subcontractors and third parties.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Good and clear English and Arabic communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Highly motivated with a flexible approach in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events and emergencies.
  • Good literacy and analytical skills required for the role.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills;
  • Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Hold a valid UAE driving license with a good driving skill and experience.

 

EXPERIENCES

  • A minimum of 2 years, preferably 3 years, of security work related experience (in a law enforcement agency or security services provider) for railway organisations, public utilities companies, or government offices including foreign embassies; A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a railway operations environment delivering front line services is an advantage.
  • Experience of following rules and instructions.

 

EDUCATIONNAL QUALIFCATIONS

  • Ideally a degree holder or high diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline.
