Job Summary:

As a Security Engineer II, you will play a pivotal role in advancing access to clean energy by enhancing security measures and reinforcing the technology and infrastructure essential for its realization. Join our team of committed security experts and help safeguard our organization's endpoints against ever-evolving cyber threats.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Endpoint Security Engineer with a strong background in endpoint security, malware detection and response, and familiarity with tools such as CrowdStrike. The ideal candidate will have 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, possess a solid understanding of desktop management of both Windows and macOS, and exhibit proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python. The role will require thorough analysis of security alerts generated by endpoint detection and response tools, along with the ability to discern false positives effectively. Additionally, exposure to email security tools like Proofpoint and a willingness to learn new technologies, such as zero trust network access, are highly desirable. Candidates with security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ will be given preference.

This person will report to an Engineering manager in Chennai and will also collaborate closely with security team members in the US. What you’ll do:

  • Manage and maintain endpoint security solutions, focusing on tools like CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar platforms.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of security alerts, investigating potential threats and discerning false positives.
  • Develop and implement strategies for malware detection and response, ensuring swift and effective remediation.
  • Partner with our global IT team on mobile device management systems for both Windows and Mac environments, ensuring security best practices are followed.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, and Python) to automate tasks and enhance security measures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security incidents and implement coordinated security responses.
  • Stay updated with the latest security trends, tools, and techniques, continuously enhancing the organization's security posture.
  • Provide support for email security tools (such as Proofpoint, Mimecast, or similar), ensuring email security is robust and effective.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, including zero trust network access  and other emerging security solutions.

What will help you succeed:

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in endpoint security roles, with a focus on malware detection and response.
  • Proficiency with endpoint security tools such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne,or similar platforms.
  • Experience in managing desktop environments for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
  • Strong scripting skills, with experience in PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with email security tools like Proofpoint, Mimecast, or similar is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of Zero Trust  and tools like Twingate, Zscaler, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

Security certifications such as CompTIA  Security+  or Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
