The Role

Architecture & Design:

  • Design, architect, and implement security solutions across a diverse range of projects, ensuring they align with organizational standards and best practices.
  • Lead the integration of security solutions within AWS, Azure, and other cloud environments to ensure a robust defence against security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain security playbooks to ensure a streamlined response to security incidents.

Security Operations:

  • Utilize SIEM solutions like Azure Sentinel and DataDog to monitor, analyze, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and manage security CI/CD processes to ensure the continuous integration and deployment of secure applications.
  • Configure and manage security tools and services to ensure the optimal performance and security of all systems.

Data Analytics:

  • Design and build complex queries to extract, analyze, and interpret data from various sources for proactive threat hunting and incident investigation.
  • Utilize data analytics to generate insightful reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting the security posture of the organization.

Programming & Scripting:

  • Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, JavaScript, React, and GoLang to enhance security processes, reduce manual effort, and ensure rapid incident response.
  • Implement custom integrations between different security tools and platforms to optimize the security operations workflow.

Network Security:

  • Conduct thorough network security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigating solutions.
  • Ensure network security best practices are implemented and maintained across all platforms.

Security Incident Response Simulation and Planning:

  • Participate in the development, testing, and maintenance of DR and BCP plans to ensure organizational resilience in the face of security incidents and other disruptive events.
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities impacting business continuity.

Advanced Security Testing:

  • Familiarity with Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Static Application Security Testing (SAST), and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in participating in or leading Red Team/Blue Team exercises to identify security strengths and weaknesses and to improve organizational security posture.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is a priority at every stage of project development and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of security risks and mitigations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering, architecture, and/or operations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting with Python, JavaScript, React, and GoLang.
  • Deep understanding of network security principles and practices.
  • Experience with SIEM solutions such as Azure Sentinel and DataDog.
  • Ability to write complex queries and generate custom reports.
  • Familiarity with creating and maintaining security playbooks and Jupyter Notebooks
  • Managing security in CI/CD processes.
  • Good understanding of NIST CSF and SOC 2 Type 2.

The actual base pay offered may take into account the candidate's work location, relevant education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.Hiring Range: $125,000—$150,000 USD
