Technical Security Consultant – International Travel – Middle East

 

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence has been contracted to deliver a National Cyber Security Programme in the Middle East as a client side strategic advisor.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a best of breed capability delivery team that will deliver a National Programme to enhance a Nations Cyber Security posture. 

 

The role of ‘Technical Security Consultant’ is based in the UK with frequent business trips to the Middle East for 1-3 weeks at a time.  When working in the UK up to 70% of effort could be required to be in company offices the remaining could be home working.

 

About the job:

 

As a ‘Technical Security Consultant’ you will be responsible for supporting the production of the technology design and the High Level Design for this National Cyber Security programme. Day to day duties will be varied but will include things like:

 

  • General consultancy work including liaising with stakeholders, preparing realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining the core Azure services and 3rd party applications require to deliver the services to the end client.
  • Supporting the wider team and provision of specialist advice to the policy teams and assisting with the technical Job Specifications, Personal Development Plans, and the production of processes and procedures for maintaining and supporting the technical solution.
  • Supporting account creation and maintenance of the cloud solution and associated services.
  • Defining and measuring performance metrics for the services.
  • Supporting the development of 1st to 4th line support plans and system and UAT
  • Support the development of functional and non-functional test procedures.
  • Documenting the design, and configuration
  • Mentoring client infrastructure team skills team.
  • Supporting the production of technical requirements and user stories for eth future capability requirements across ICT, security applications and Service management tools and applications.

 

The skills and experience we are looking for:

 

  • You will need to have experience working in an operational IT environment and an Operational cyber security environment and also as a security consultant to be considered for this role.
  • Proven experience conducting OnBoarding activities onto a SIEM and experience at developing security use cases
  • You will have experience setting up and configuring Azure services and configuring and operating Azure security services (Microsoft Defender, Security Graph, Sentinel)
  • Client side consulting skills, including stakeholder engagement, briefing, report writing and the ability to communicate insights and concepts to others
  • designing, installing and configuring highly capacity and availability networks
  • Proven experience in deploying highly secured networks; experience with VMWare, MS Server 2019 or later, MS Windows, MS Azure and AWS.
  • You will be able to design, install and configure SANs and VSANs and also design and install VPNs, VLANs, MDE and DLP.
  • Experience in producing technical documentation to a high standard is also needed.
  • You will have an analytical approach and be capable of solving new and complex technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate the impact and importance of detailed technical information to non-technical and senior audiences.
  • Arabic speaking would be advantageous but it not mandatory.
  • You will be able to take frequent business trips to the Middle East for 1-3 weeks at a time
