Job Description
The Application Security Engineer role is in charge of promoting, developing, adding, and testing
security features within applications to prevent vulnerabilities at every stage of the software
development life cycle. The final goal is to improve security practices and, through that, to find, fix and prevent security issues within applications.
Reporting to the Group Head of Application Security, this role is a mix of technical operational skills, software security, secure coding principals, as well as communication with developers and security champions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify potential risks and minimize security vulnerabilities by integrating risk mitigation controls into applications development.
- Propose and implement strategies, security policies and controls to enhance application’s security.
- Develop the cooperation with CICD team, Cloud Technical Office and developers to promote
- DevSecOps culture and develop the usage of security tools.
- Develop, maintain and administrate Quality & Static Application Security Testing solution (ex.Fortify, SonarQube)
- Develop, maintain and administrate Software Component Analysis tool (OWASP Dependency-Check)
- Improve Kubernetes security as well as images scanning in CICD toolchain (AquaSec tool).
- Communicate and assist software developers when needed to fix or mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Implement a continuous improvement approach to improve security policies and alerts raised by the tools (ex. Minimizing false positives).
- Guarantee the availability of the tools & platforms (“always on”).
- Manage third-party and vendors providing these security tools.
- Propose and implement metrics and indicators.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant degree
Knowledge & Experience:
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) knowledge.
- Good knowledge of OWASP Top10, CWE, common security flaws.
- Proficient with DevSecOps culture and tools.
- Proficient with cloud-native and containerized platforms with proven experience on Kubernetes (EKS), Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, etc.
- Experience with SAST tools, preferably Fortify and OWASP Dependency-Check.
- Good command of Aquasec.
- Coding/Developer experience on one or multiple languages such as Java, .Net, Python, NodeJS.

- The ability to interact and build good relationships at all levels and across all business units and organisations, and the ability of influence stakeholders.
- Change management skills.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Listens and communicates technical subjects to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to work with others effectively, with 3 rd parties, internal teams, and international business units, promoting knowledge sharing within and across teams.
- Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Rigor and quality.
- Fluent in French and English in mandatory.
