What You’ll Be Doing

The Fusion Centre is responsible for protecting our clients and our bank by holistically combatting financial crime threats which cross multiple domains including: the Corporate Security, Information Security and Fraud. By integrating and analyzing cross-pillar intelligence and data, the Fusion Centre develops a more accurate picture of threats and coordinates protective actions to mitigate threats, reduce loss and better enable our client’s ambitions to become a reality. Reporting to the VP, FRG, the Senior Director Fusion Threat Intelligence will lead the development of state of the art Threat Intelligence Team and day to day operations of it.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Build a global Fusion Intelligence function - Lead the creation, implementation and operation of the Fusion Intelligence capability within Fusion as a centralized threat intelligence team to effectively monitor and asses CIBC’s external environment for threats that pose significant financial, regulatory, and reputational risk to CIBC.

  • Strategic Development & Execution- Establish strategic-level intelligence collection, a series of intelligence products, and a centralized methodology for effective intelligence product dissemination and management for the enterprise. Develop and manage relationships with executives and business leaders, including guiding collaboration with security pillars; providing knowledge of intelligence best practices and advanced collection and analysis techniques. Accountable for the development of the Intelligence team’s  processes, technology and data capabilities to support the effective operation of the Fusion Centre.  This includes building and maintaining core intelligence functions, developing a holistic view of the threat landscape by recognizing connection between the various teams, including Fraud, Cyber Security, Physical Security, Insider Threats, Crisis Management and AML to mitigate risks and minimize the impact of financial crime activities.

  • Relationship Management: Partner with enterprise teams, including Corporate Security, Information Security and Fraud Management to continuously share knowledge and technologies, assess potential gaps for transitional crimes, build detection tools to ensure ongoing defense against criminal activities and enhanced decision making. Act as steward and advisor to the business on all aspects of security and financial crimes, providing senior executives with a clear view of the financial crime landscape and timely recommendations on current and emerging areas of threats based on fact-based intelligence and analytics, aggregate monitoring, case management and insights from internal and external partners. Coordinate Fusion Intelligence activities with functional leaders as required.  Manage and communicate key activities to senior executives across CIBC which will include the development of dashboards that can relay important information on a timely basis. Interface with external stakeholders, including but not limited to law enforcement, government bodies and peer financial institutions. 

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in- Threat intelligence with a focus on cybersecurity, fraud, or physical security including management roles, as well as experience with financial crimes trends, current protocols and standards. A blend of public and private sector experience in Threat Intelligence is ideal.

Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required.
