The Position

Department Summary

This is a 12 week internship program in Roche Information Solutions (RIS), you will learn the how the product security and privacy operations (PSPO) department operates and supports the business. This program is suited for a student who is in the four year university or graduate program that is actively seeking to be in the cybersecurity and privacy field in the heart of Silicon Valley. Projects will be assigned according to expertise and experience.


This internship position is located in Santa Clara, On Site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight and execution of security and privacy activities leveraged to ensure the software development lifecycle of medical applications meets internal and external compliance obligations.
  • Enable cross-functional teams to triage identified vulnerabilities
  • Assist in the execution of third-party vendor assessments to evaluate the security and data privacy posture of external entities with which Roche data is shared.

Program Highlights

  •  Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)
  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 
  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry. 

Who You Are (Required) 

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)

Required majors: Cybersecurity, Business Administration, Bioengineering, Data Science

Required skills

  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure with highly confidential data
  • Demonstrated proficiency with communicating security strategy, products, and ecosystems.
  • Exceptional negotiation, demonstration, presentation and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation skills in past internships, or University related projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. 

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in California is $19.00 - $55.00 per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
