Job Description

The role of a Facility Security Officer (FSO) at Convergint Federal is responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of our facilities in accordance with government regulations and company policies. The FSO plays a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's sensitive information, assets, and personnel both internally and externally. Work well with Convergint parent company.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Clearance Management:

  • Manage and administer security clearance processes, including initial applications, periodic re-investigations, and clearance upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of personnel security clearances and access levels.

Visitor Control:

  • Implement and oversee visitor control procedures, ensuring only authorized individuals gain access to the facility.
  • Coordinate with government agencies for clearance verification as necessary   

Security Training and Education:

  • Conduct security briefings and training sessions for employees to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on security regulations and disseminate relevant information to the organization.

Security Plans and Policies:

  • Develop and maintain facility security plans, policies, and procedures in compliance with government requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce security policies and guidelines.               

Physical Security:

  • Oversee physical security measures, including access control systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment.
  • Conduct security assessments and implement corrective actions as needed.  

Incident Response and Reporting:

  • Respond to security incidents, conduct investigations, and report findings to appropriate authorities.
  • Ensure all security incidents are properly documented and reported.               

Security Audits and Inspections:

  • Prepare for and assist with security audits and inspections conducted by government agencies.
  • Address any deficiencies and implement corrective actions.           

Vendor and Contractor Security:

  • Evaluate security practices of vendors and contractors working on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with security requirements and regulations.

Other Duties: Other duties assigned within reason of current role previously specified.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Active security clearance and certification as an FSO is REQUIRED.
  • Strong knowledge of security regulations, including NISPOM, FISMA, and NIST standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with security systems and technology.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
  • Strong working knowledge with security clearance processes and access control systems.
  • Other preferred certifications include but not limited to OPSEC Awareness, Insider Threat Awareness, Counterintelligence Awareness and Security, Risk Management Framework, CDSE, FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Curriculum and Orientation, Safeguarding Classified Information, Classified Storage Requirement, Active Shooter Procedures, Cybersecurity Awareness
