Job Description

Location: Toronto, CAN

Duration: 12 Months (Likely to be extended)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer with a strong background in cybersecurity, specifically holding the Certified Information Security Professional (CISP) and/or Certified Cloud Information Security Professional (CCISP) certification. As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our organization's information systems and data assets.

Responsibilities: • CISP/CCISP Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge and expertise in cloud security, as demonstrated by the CISP/CCISP certification, to enhance the overall security posture of our organization's cloud-based/on-prem infrastructure. • Security Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement robust security architectures for cloud/on-prem environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information. • Risk Assessment/Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively. Stay abreast of emerging threats and technologies to proactively address security challenges. • Incident Response: Lead incident response efforts in the event of a security incident, investigating and documenting the root cause, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. • Operations: Configure and manage security tools such as FireNet, antivirus tools, WAN, and Zscaler. Hands-on experience with these tools is required. • Cloud Experience: If the candidate has hands-on experience with cloud technologies, they will be responsible for implementing security measures in cloud environments.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. • CISP and/or CCISP certification is mandatory. • 8+ years proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role.

  • hands on experience with configuration and tool management (firewall, zscaler, firenet, IDS, EDR, Splunk)

    • In-depth knowledge of cloud security best practices and technologies. • Strong understanding of networking protocols, security architecture, and risk management. • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. • Familiarity with relevant compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC2, HITRUST, FedRAMP).
