POSITION SUMMARY 

Sony Corporation of America (SCA), is seeking an Intern, Security Architecture to join the Corporate Information Security Division (CISD) organization in Reston, VA for the 2024 Summer Internship Program. This position will be a part of the Security Architecture team responsible for establishing a unified enterprise security architecture to secure Sony’s information assets, services, and the products that depend on them, building trust with customers and stakeholders, and protecting the privacy of Sony’s customers and employees.  The intern will have the opportunity to directly contribute and assist with projects associated with global security architecture. This position is for those interested in pursuing a career in cyber security or security architecture specifically within a global enterprise. 

 

The CISD summer internship program runs for twelve weeks beginning in May and ending in August. Our program is designed to provide skills, knowledge, and hands-on work experience in the information security and privacy industry, supporting the personal growth of our interns as well as Sony business results. This role is a fulltime, paid internship.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Support development and refinement of global information security technical standards, guidelines, and training 

  • Research and assess emerging technologies, industry standards, regulations and cyber threats. 

  • Assist with modelling Security Architecture methodologies in areas of Infrastructure, Applications, Networking, Identity and Data 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION 

Your qualifications and experience should include:  

  • Meets one or more of the following requirements: 

  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program 

  • Recent graduate of a degree-seeking or technical program, within one year of completion 

  • Preferred education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or Information Assurance, or related field with strong academic performance 

  • Broad knowledge across multiple domains including Infrastructure, Applications, Networking, Identity and Data preferred. 

  • Knowledge of Industry Standards and frameworks including NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27000 family preferred. 

  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and quickly apply new concepts to accomplish assignments. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PPT 

  • Previous experience through work or internship preferred. 

  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. 

The target hourly rate for this internship is $21.00 per hour.  The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
