Position SummaryAs a Security Engineer Intern you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experiencedCloud Security, Application Security, and Compliance and Risk Management Engineers andgain practical exposure to the field of cloud security. You will actively participate in varioussecurity initiatives, projects, and day-to-day operations that are crucial to safeguarding ourcloud-based infrastructure and data.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in monitoring cloud security controls and analyzing security alerts to identify potential threats or vulnerabilities.
• Gain proficiency in utilizing various security tools and technologiesused in cloud security operations.
• Assist in vulnerability scanning and assessment of cloud resources, followed by remediation support.
• Collaborate with our Application Security (AppSec) and Risk & Compliance Engineers to assist in evaluating and enhancing security measures within applications and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Attend a threat modeling session.
• Assist AppSec and Risk & Compliance Engineers in conducting security audits, assessments, and evaluations of third-party vendors and services integrated into our cloud environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Ops Dev teams, to integrate security practices into the cloud environment.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in cloud security and share your findings with the team.
• Prepare for an AWS Certification utilizing tools and resources provided by GoodLeap.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• Strong interest in cloud security and a desire to learn.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to take initiative and adapt to new challenges.
