HBSS Cyber Security Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity:  

Your combination of people skills and system administrator expertise makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. We’re looking for a system administrator to help us work with our DoD client on the operation and maintenance of systems and servers.

As a system administrator on our project, you’ll perform the day-to-day activities of ensuring our client infrastructure is operational for our DoD clients and customers. You’ll also provide insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. As a system administrator leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to modernize the network so your clients achieve their goals. Work with us and resolve daily challenges as we improve our infrastructure posture for our clients.

  You Have: 

  • 5+ years of experience with administering systems and networks with increasing levels of responsibility

  • 5+ years of experience with DoD Information Assurance practices and tools, including McAfee, Trellix, ACAS, and NESSUS

  • 5+ years of experience with evaluating external vulnerability reports, web risk assessments, and determining actions required to mitigate or close the vulnerability

  • 3+ years of experience with implementing server STIGs and DoD Policies within systems and networks

  • 3+ years of experience with managing security patch deployment for multiple OS and applications, including Microsoft and Linux

  • 3+ years of experience with configuring and administering IIS web applications, Active Directory, Windows Defender Firewall, and Firewalld

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience working with DoD networks, including the Navy

  • Experience working with network and application monitoring and analysis tools, including Thycotic Secret Server, Solar Winds, and Splunk

  • Experience with VMware Cloud Director and application-based firewalls

  • Experience with deploying and administering Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Single Sign-On in Windows and Linux networks, BIG-IP, and both custom and third-party applications

  • Experience working with cloud environments, including AWS or Azure

  • Experience with performing audit log analysis to identify threats and performance problems

  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Possession of excellent organizational and leadership skills, including management with multiple priorities and projects

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
