Job Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced O/S System Consultant specialising in Patching and Backup Policy Management. The role involves overseeing the maintenance, patching, and backup policy management for the operating systems across our infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and optimal performance.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement operating system patching strategies to ensure security and compliance across the organization's infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain backup policies, performing regular backups and recovery testing to safeguard critical data and systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute patching and backup strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Monitor, analyse, and report on system vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation measures.
• Maintain and update documentation related to patching and backup policies, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Provide technical guidance and support on patching and backup-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving system problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in operating system management, with a focus on patching and backup policies.
• Proficiency in OS patch management tools and backup solutions.
• Strong understanding of system vulnerabilities, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in planning and executing backup and recovery procedures in line with business needs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
