Location Details: USA Remote 

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.  

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

Our Senior Director of Security Analytics and Products, is part of our Information Security division, responsible for overseeing, driving, and establishing GoDaddy’s multi-year security software and product development strategy for the Information Security program. This role owns core accountability for establishing strategy to build and scale sophisticated anomaly detection models, tools and capabilities required to support security detection and response teams in security GoDaddy and customer assets.

What you'll get to do...

  • Establish a roadmap for scaling cost-effective and sophisticated security tools and capabilities to enhance GoDaddy security detection and response capabilities
  • Develop, coach, and mentor a team of engineers and growth leaders, while coordinating closely with product and program managers, other engineering leaders and business partners
  • Be accountable for the development and operationalization of cloud security detection and response tooling that can be used by detection and response teams at scale
  • Own the development of tools and capabilities required to ensure security of assets, including development of custom detection and alerting tools that customers can use at scale
  • Develop single pane dashboards to monitor state of security of assets at scale while enabling stakeholders to address emerging threats efficiently
  • Establish and optimize data lakes and logging infrastructure required to support enterprise security operations at scale in a cost-efficient manner
  • Develop custom security detection logic and anomaly detection models to detect and mitigate risks from emerging threats in large scale networks and enterprises.
  • Oversee development of secure by design patterns and shared security infrastructure and drive adoption across the company
  • Develop capabilities to proactively handle security detection and prevention rules and deploy them across web application firewalls and other policy enforcement points across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Drive program management activities to establish and refine security budget and investments as part of annual planning
  • Partner with Internal and External audit teams to drive gap assessments, cyber security audits and other audit functions required to support the organization
  • Build a companywide, shared vision by partnering with Finance, Operation, IT, executive management, and key product leaders
  • Help define and prioritize security initiatives and investments by collaborating with business partners

Your experience should include...

  • 10+ years’ proven experience in software engineering with focus on cyber security or security products
  • Experience establishing security strategy, goals and targets
  • Well versed in native cloud software development with validated expertise building and scaling cloud security detection and response capabilities, including security data lakes and security logging infrastructure in cloud (AWS) in a cost-effective manner
  • Experience building and deploying behavioral anomaly detection models to detect lateral movements, data exfiltration attempts and other emerging threats
  • Expertise in cloud security architecture with experience developing and deploying secure by default configurations, cloud formation templates and drift detection capabilities
  • Expertise building security tools, dashboards and capabilities that can be used by internal and external stakeholders to make informed security decisions and drive remediation activities
  • Prowess with threat modeling or other risk identification techniques, and risk management
  • Able to lead and mentor managers, software development teams and security engineers while building and maintaining high agility and high morale
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication with an ability to communicate sophisticated technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences

You might also have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science or related field
  • Master’s degree in information security
  • Consistent record of project delivery for large, multi-functional projects with evolving requirements
  • Familiarity with cyber security budgeting, tools rationalization and capability mapping to ensure that cyber security investments are commensurate to risk reduction objectives of the organization
  • Validated experience drafting and publishing security policies, standards, and guidelines for large scale organizations/enterprises
