phia is hiring a Cyber Communications Coordinator to support a unique Federal review board responsible for investigating, evaluating, and reporting on notable cybersecurity incidents. The goal is to enhance the protection of our nation's networks and infrastructure and to inform and guide cybersecurity efforts across government, industry, and the broader security community. This role presents a meaningful and career-enhancing opportunity. This is a remote role. The ideal candidate will be able to work remotely and report occasionally to an on-site customer location in Arlington, VA.  

What You'll Do

  • Track routine communications related to cyber information (e.g., cyber incident data, campaigns, response activities) between various executive stakeholders, equities, and key personnel. 
  • Assist in the development of briefings for internal and external audiences, ensuring information is appropriate and in compliance with the current guidelines and policies, and perform quality control to include editing documents for grammar, format, and content. 
  • Assist in drafting material for outreach and communication products of publicly available reports and recommendations. Support may include researching key stakeholders, trade associations, or government partners; assessing key issues relevant to participating government and industry stakeholders; and developing presentations and marketing products. 
  • Assist in management support activities to include consolidation and deconfliction of inputs, quality control of responses, technical editing, and correction of products. 
  • Assist in the development of briefings for internal and external audiences, ensuring information is appropriate and in compliance with the current guidelines and policies, and perform quality control to include editing documents for grammar, format, and content. 
  • Assist in drafting material for outreach and communication products of publicly available reports and recommendations. Support may include researching key stakeholders, trade associations, or government partners; assessing key issues relevant to participating government and industry stakeholders; and developing presentations and marketing products. 
  • Provide meeting management and logistics support relevant to the review board and its subcommittees including drafting topic ideas, supporting coordination and routing of agendas, facilitating working group sessions on relevant study topics, facilitating interviews with relevant stakeholders, and drafting analytic summaries and recommendations for working group reports. 
  • Provide quality assurance reviews of all products to ensure the quality of products developed for the Board is free of errors – this includes technical editing, grammar, and information graphics. 
  • Collaborate with other team members and cybersecurity experts in transferring information and knowledge relevant to notable cyber incidents.
  • Work proficiently with common applications, such as SharePoint, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word, and develop - with minimal to no error products to support all aspects of Board work in alignment with government expectations.

Experience Requirements

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with various audiences from technical analysts (e.g., malware analysts, Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) analysts, Incident Response (IR) and Cyber Hunt analysts), to academic researchers, to business and functional managers and leaders, to senior executives in both the public and private sectors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • BS/BA and 3 years of relevant work experience (not necessarily just cyber), additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

Security Clearance

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to achieve Public Trust
  • Ability to obtain DHS suitability (EOD)

Preferred Certifications (one or more)

  • PMP or similar
  • Security+, CEH, CISSP or similar 
  • GIAC foundational security certifications (e.g. GISF, GSEC, etc.)
