About this role

What will you be responsible for?

  • Coordinates and/or conducts forensic examination and/or legal hold of electronic devices including computers, mobile devices, and other digital data storage media. 
  • Uses software and hardware forensic tools to extract, preserve, analyze, and present evidence for further investigations or testing. 
  • Assists Legal, BI&C, and HR in providing legal hold support, chain of custody integrity, information supporting investigations, and preparation of legal hold / cyber data for court purposes. 
  • Maintains the confidentially of all legal and investigation support work. 
  • Supports and assists with cyber security investigations.  
  • Supports Cyber incident management / managers by monitoring emergent, high priority incidents.  Gathers incident artifacts, ensures the major security incidents are documented properly, and prepare for discussions with Cybersecurity Disclosure Steering Committee and Breach Response team. 
  • Serves as subject matter expert on technical matters relating to digital evidence and testify in court or at hearings as an expert witness in the area of digital forensics. 
  • Leverages security, information technology, and IT Compliance data to develop periodic reporting, dashboards, data analytics, and activity reports using Newmont standard business intelligence and reporting platforms. 
  • Performs other cyber security duties as assigned.

  • Coordinates, develops, and provides operational management of legal hold, investigations, forensics, and forensic technology.  
  • Supports Cyber incident management and documentation process. 
  • Management of technical matters relating to chain of custody and digital evidence handling. 
  • Development of reporting and analytic capabilities leveraging information technology, cybersecurity and IT compliance data for dashboards, reporting, and analytics. 
  • Contributes and supports to overall Cyber Security program and service delivery, assisting with other relevant duties in support of the mission.

Here is what we need to see from you!
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity or Applicable Experience in the Field. 
  • Experience with common practices and technology in support of forensics, legal hold and digital evidence handling. 
  • General Cybersecurity and Information experience with understanding of common practices, service delivery and operations. 
  • Working knowledge of business and intelligence reporting and data. management.
  • Background in support services. 
  • Knowledge of project management.  

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of overall experience across IT and/or Cybersecurity functions. 
  • Experience with Legal Hold, Forensic Technology, Forensic Investigation, and Digital evidence is preferred. 
  • 3+ years of customer engagement, support, and service delivery.
  • Experience building reports, dashboards, and providing data analysis  
  • Working knowledge of mining. 
  • Ability to work in a self-directed fashion completing tasks and goals without direct management oversight.  
  • Industry awareness of current IT Compliance trends and best practices (technology, risk management, IT general controls).  
  • Ability to perform investigations, data gathering, forensics and legal hold while maintaining confidentiality and strong working relationships across related functions.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively tailor and tune message to all levels within the organization. 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to develop, communicate and implement forensic investigations, legal hold, and digital evidence.
  • Strong background and knowledge of information technology, cybersecurity and the solutions and platforms used to deliver those services.   
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship expertise. 
  • Ability to effectively manage confidential investigations, data, and communications.  
     

Working conditions & location

  • This position is located in the corporate headquarters in Denver.
  • Position is required to travel and direct the work at domestic and international sites.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $90,720 to 107,730. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.   

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
