Job Description

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager is responsible for helping mature the cyber security program, this can include implementing controls; as well as providing guidance and recommendations on cyber trends and industry analysis. You'll join a highly collaborative Cyber working group working to reduce risk across the business; aligning to the cyber strategy; identifying protection goals, objectives and controls consistent with addressing current and emerging trends, threats and opportunities. This includes exemplify cloud security expertise and good practice in secure by design and security tooling across all infrastructure and parts of the business. 

The SOC Manager is also responsible for leading and resolving cyber security incidents and risks. Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Systems they will implement and proactively maintain existing security systems, processes and policies as required by the business and the Cyber Security initiative. Work also includes to ensure Nearmap complies with standard practices and certifications such as NIST and SOC2.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Hands on experience in implementing and maintaining cyber security controls across a range of IT infrastructure including public Cloud environment (AWS and GCP).
• Knowledge and experience in security architecture principles and frameworks including Infrastructure OS Hardening, Host and Application Firewalls, Encryption, Endpoint Control, Intrusion Detection / Prevention .
• Experience with frameworks including NIST and SOC2 compliance.
• Experience with SIEM and VM platforms.
• Experience with Incident Response.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical or security support environments.
• Experience in the development and implementation of cyber defence strategies, in a large and complex organizations (IT and OT context).
• Forward thinking with a passion for process improvement and standardisation and reuse.
• An inherent passion for cyber security and service excellence.
