Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Australia are on the lookout for a highly motivated Business Information Security Officer (BISO) & InfoSec Integration Lead to join the Boeing Enterprise Security (BES) team. This role is key to support the regional Chief Security Officer/Chief Information Security Officer (CSO/CISO) and act as deputy whilst also integrating all InfoSec and SoC operations across Australia and Oceania.

The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) will serve as the primary point of contact between the BES function and Boeing Defence Australia.  This role will further provide support as a security focal to Boeing Aerostructures Australia, Insitu Pacific and other Boeing subsidiaries in region as needed. The BISO is responsible for maintaining a strategic relationship with the specific business unit or function that they are aligned to. This is done to ensure that cybersecurity is incorporated into the culture of the enterprise/organization/business unit in question.

The role can be based in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne and will be part of a truly global team, meaning that there is much flexibility in the hours worked, noting that some work calls will be outside the traditional working hours.

The successful candidate will have highly effective analytical skills with an ability to identify and resolve issues, be tolerant of ambiguity and the flexibility to work well in a dynamic environment with a high attention to detail, a self-starter as well as results driven. We are looking for a team member who is recognized as a cybersecurity thought leader and influencer that has good judgment, a sense of urgency and has demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Administering, approving and providing assurance of security plans and strategies across the Australia & Oceana region;
  • Leading global security and regulatory compliance efforts, partnering for success, and sharing expertise of the region’s security regulatory landscape as it pertains to Boeing’s business operations;
  • Building a trusted network with key stakeholders to bolster secure business operations;
  • Acting as the conduit between business partners, regional stakeholders and the Boeing Enterprise Security leadership/program to provide a unified security overview;
  • Working and bridging communication gaps between cross-functional teams, providing Information Security guidance as appropriate;
  • Providing senior leadership and the board of directors with accurate assessments of our security posture and progress on industry standard frameworks on an ongoing basis;
  • Improving the visibility and management of regional security risks and risk mitigation plans;
  • Communicating critical security risks/issues with IT & Data Analytics business partners and key stakeholders;
  • Optimizing the delivery of security resources, strategies and solutions for business needs;
  • Leading proactive and progressive security awareness with regional stakeholders to promote the improvement of security practices, compliance and culture.

What you might bring:

  • 10-14 years Proven experience working in risk management, governance, and regulatory requirements related to cybersecurity with a specific focus on business outcomes and service delivery;
  • CISSP, Security+ or other cybersecurity certifications;
  • Strong executive presence and business acumen, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to translate technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts;
  • Strategic thinking and practical execution in ambiguous and dynamic environments;
  • Knowledge of security frameworks & experience with security assessments;
  • Familiarity with security controls and services on endpoint devices, in-house and commercial applications, Window and Linux servers, and infrastructure network devices;
  • Project management, team lead experience.
  • Experience in the ICT Defence environment would be looked upon favourably. This might include accreditation as an IRAP assessor and experience dealing with the Defence ICT community and system accreditation per the ISM.
