phia is seeking a motivated Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Network Services Specialist)  with a passion for protecting large enterprises from cyber threats and a desire to advance their career in a dynamic and challenging environment. This support contract provides a broad range of cyber services to all components under the CISO including cyber operations, cyber risk, security engineering, and digital integration departments. The client’s enterprise consists of over 600,000 employees, 500,000 devices, 200,000 enterprise email accounts, 200,000 endpoints, over 400 firewall sets, and 640+ URLs.  This customer location is in Morrisville, NC, and the Washington, DC metro areas, and offers remote support options.

What You'll Do

  • Provide security requirements for the infrastructure teams to enhance the security posture of the network.
  • Conduct investigations to identify security gaps present in the current network and network services.
  • Investigate new or improved security solutions and develop solutions to mitigate known security gaps.
  • Develop and document security solutions.
  • Represent the organization’s Engineering division to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct training on topics related to network services security tools.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to support team needs, using SIEM, tools portals, and other monitoring tools.
  • Support change management processes. 

Required: Education + Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 10+ years of related professional experience (IT, networking, network security)
  • 5+ years of dedicated cybersecurity experience preferred
  • Knowledge of security standards and best practices, including but not limited to: DISASTIGs, NIST 800, Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Benchmarks
  • Knowledgeable in cybersecurity technology solution planning, engineering, and deployment, including DNS, FW, EDR/XDR, FW, NGIPS, and SIEM.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure components: Data center, Cloud (Azure, GCP, AWS, PaaS/IaaS/SaaS), Software-defined networks/SASE, Trusted Internet Connections (TIC), Enterprise certificate authority/PKI operations, DNS/DHCP security, DDoS/WAF, Network access control, Wireless network security.
  • Familiarity with BlueCat solutions and technology
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to effectively present technical information to various levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills (written/spoken).

Certifications (One or more preferred)

  • CISSP-Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • CISSP-ISSEP-Certified Information Systems Security Engineering Professional
  • CISSP-ISSAP-Certified Information Systems Security Architecture Professional
  • IT Networking Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.)
  • CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker

Security Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust or higher government clearance
